Horton's material and shape, by its very nature, reverberates sound from the ceiling and south wall directly onto the floor where it's echoed back to the ceiling and reverberates back again. The sound multiplies. I've never heard Redbird be as loud as at Horton, even with more than double the number of attendees. Hell, the sound of people tapping their phones could be pretty loud. Get half the attendees cheering and it'll sound like four times the total number of attendees. (Not a scientifically proven statement, but believed from experience.)I love this idea but I have to ask the question. Why do people think it's is going to be any louder? Are phones going to be banned? Are people not going to get yelled at for standing up and cheering? I just don't see it magically changing our game day atmosphere. Society and our fans are much different than back in the day.
Anyone who attended the ACDC and Blackfoot show in Horton can attestHorton's material and shape, by its very nature, reverberates sound from the ceiling and south wall directly onto the floor where it's echoed back to the ceiling and reverberates back again. Speaking of Larry Bird. The other thing great about Horton was the students had the west side. We weren't relegated to a baseline. It was definitely 1 louder. I've never been to a sporting event as loud as that Saturday game against Bird.

When I asked about tickets today, I asked if there was any thought in looking into getting a company to bring is extra bleachers. The response - our wonderful State of Illinois will NOT allow it due to "Health and Safety" reasons. My reply - what a bunch of BS. Just another reason why #&@!$.Are they bringing in stands for the north side baseline?

Wow, I would think that that they could have something on a limited basis.
