Any word if we are still interested in mo?Doing a post-grad year at DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach. Assume he was an academic NQ.
We may still be interested in him, but not sure if he would still be interested after his post-grad year. His only recent offer is from FIU. Otherwise he picked up Xavier, Dayton, Providence, and VCU in late 2018/early 2019 before ISU offered later in 2019. I'd say it is unlikely we have a chance to land him, but that is just my personal opinion. Would be interested to hear what others think.Any word if we are still interested in mo?
None of the Birds coaches are following him on Twitter. That is usually a good metric to determine "interest."Any word if we are still interested in mo?
Who are the top 10 ISU recruits that the coaches are following?None of the Birds coaches are following him on Twitter. That is usually a good metric to determine "interest."
I really hope they are mostly 4s and 5sWho are the top 10 ISU recruits that the coaches are following?
@Bird Friend does a great job of keeping up with who we're following and keeps the recruiting board updated. Recently, there has been interest shown in several "bigs" via transfer. Many of them look promising. I think 2021 is going to be the year where teams across the country bring in more transfers than ever. Most coaches haven't had a chance to see HS kids in person, so they are opting for players who they have a significant amount of film.Who are the top 10 ISU recruits that the coaches are following?
With Emon Washington? That could be a good thing, or a doubly bad thing.@Bird Friend does a great job of keeping up with who we're following and keeps the recruiting board updated. The needs is a 4/5 for sure. No doubt about it. After that, there is flexibility with the other scholarship based on how the roster churns out in the next 4 weeks or so. I'm guessing guys that can play the wing position (3/4) are going to be desired because a lot of times, you can never have too many 6'5+ kids.
I've mentioned before, I like our guards. Dusan was playing fairly well at the end of the season (minus turnovers) but when he was on the bench, Abdou provided little post-offense and no resistance to stronger players in the post (Krutwig, Prim, Broadie, Phyfe).
Purely speculation, I anticipate having to fill a minimum of three, hopefully no more than four scholarships. Fisher, Chatman, and one or two more. We'll know more by mid-April.
Though ISU "cancelled" spring break, most of the players are back home. So end of season player meetings won't happen until they return. One interesting thing for those who want to run with speculation....Reeves is currently spending some time in Georgia....let the rumors roll.
Had an initial offer from Toledo few years back (prior to Offutt joining Toledo but recent enough that he probably has been in contact before). Chart that I copied and pasted is a little out of alignment, FYI. Didn't have a great offensive game vs us this year, but had 6 rebounds and was 2-2 from the line. Seems like he would be a good one to go after, he had a pretty decent freshman season. I think he has some potential. Great frame at 6'10" 245lb. Should have 3 years of eligibility. I would be thrilled to get him personally.Portal
