I think MSU will win it all. Would be pretty tough for UNI or LU to get their mind right if their game is halfway as good as yesterday's. Will be a lot of emotional investment into that semifinal matchup. Like when the Birds were drained by the second half against the Panthers in 2015 after beating the Shox in the semis.

Loyola is going to win the title this weekend. And then I predict an ISU will play UNI in a hard fought game but will fall short. Drake will roll on the other side of bracket

Chalk City! UNI will be the only NCAA Rep for the Valley and Loyola will make it to NYC for the NIT.

Can I ask why you think UNI will beat LU? It's very hard to beat a team twice (almost back to back) within a week on the highest of stages. Both teams are about equal, Is your reasoning based on that Jacobson is a top 3 valley coach in mvc history?

Yes, I give the edge to coaching. I don’t think Valentin is a bad coach, but he’s young and has shown at times that he’s got work to do. I could see Bradley knocking Loyola out, but I am not going far enough to pick it. Jacobsen is reason I pick the panthers. I also give drake the edge over Missouri state on coaching as well.

Agreed on coaching playing a huge role. Typically in March, I tend to look at teams that are older and with more experience favorably. In this scenerio, Loyola has the older team but UNI has x-factor, Coach Jake. You don't bet against that guy. Same over at Drake and MoST. Devries is a better coach than Ford but Ford has more talent with the star power of Prim and Mosely.

I've got:
Birds
Valpo

UNI (keep in mind, the Birds played them VERY close at home and for about 25 minutes on the road. Something could click if the Birds are hot)
Loyola (though Wardle does tend to get his guys going in March. I see Loyola's experience too much for Bradley to handle in this setting)
Mo State- too much talent for Valpo
Drake- SIU will make them play ugly.

UNI over Loyola
Drake over Mo State

UNI over Drake.

I agree that Jake is the best coach in the Valley but Jake was also the first 1 seed to lose to an 8 seed in 2020 right before the pandemic shut down the NCAA tournament. UNI lost to Drake 77-56 that Friday morning.
