We are second in RV (so 27th). Other MVC schools: #10 UNI, #13 Drake, #20 Belmont

There are some big shoes to fill with the departures of Mary and Paige but it appears as if we may have more depth this year. I had a question who was a player that could penetrate on a consistent basis and i think Daijah Smith might be that person. I saw some talent and skills from the newcomers.

So is Wilson hurt, sick, or suspended. Nothing mentioned in write up on Go Redbirds.

ISU had a nice tournament in California. We should have a walkover in Chicago state. Then we’ll get an idea of where we are at. Playing #10 NC State who just beat #3 Colorado and then we get undefeated Marquette

Marquette very well might be ranked when we play them. They were in the 28-30 range in the polls prior to wins this week over Boston College and a good Arkansas team. 2 very winnable games coming up for them before they play the Redbirds.

UW-GB is a good team. It’s probably a much different game if DW is healthy. Can’t cry over spilt milk though, and it doesn’t look like we will do that. Hopefully this team can somehow beat NC State and/or Marquette and put up a stellar conference season where we have a chance at an at-large. This team has the makings of one, when we have a lot more games under our belt, that can do some damage in the postseason.

NC State is ranked #5 and Marquette is ranked #23 after the polls were released this morning. Looks like we should have a ranked opponent coming to CEFCU in 2 weeks.

What amazes me is UWGB is ranked #32 - behind the 2 ranked teams it just beat on the road (Wash State and Creighton).

Unfortunately most pollsters would hold the GB’s UNI loss against them and also say, “Oh, they lost to a MD team who is 4-3.” They would not explore that MD’s losses were to South Carolina, UConn, and Wazzu.

Regardless of GB’s history, they seem to have a cap put on them. We would probably find ourselves in the same boat, but there is no reason we can’t be the GB of the MVC.
