Basketball related, with today’s scrum with Wisconsin and Howard throwing an open handed slap at a Wisconsin coach, has Howard coached his last game at Michigan? Not his first disciplinary issue since taking the reigns. Can’t imagine wanting this guy to be the face of my team. Maybe you really can’t go home when it comes to coaching.

Juwan Howard will probably be available to coach another team IMHO

Not sure ISU would hire him but you can probably put him on the available list

He won’t be fired. Suspended for the rest of the regular season and probably the B1G tourney IMO

He got busted for shoplifting a $1,000 pair of sunglasses when he'd been in the league for over a decade. He has no bottom.

Cripes sake, we used the time out as our chance to get out a little early and head for home. Could hear the booing as we were walking out, but didn't think too much of it. Only when listening to the post-game show did we know about the "hassle".

Another "irony", they retired Michael Finley's jersey at half time, and supposedly Howard and Finley were buddies from the Chicago days and later NBA teammates. Howard kinda went off on his buddy's day. I've always liked Howard, but he may have some anger issues, yes??

I don't think he will be fired. Typically schools from the P5 conferences tend to circle the wagons more and protect their coaches more, especially one of their own. Should he get fired? Maybe. I'd definitely probably suspend him the rest of the year and state that he has to attend some mandated counseling as well as take some anger management courses.

From what I saw and heard, he complained about the time out, after his team was pressing the bench team from Wisconsin. Then he talked about someone touching him. As best I can tell, he was touched by Gard quite a while before he threw the punch/slap. Not sure how Michigan alumni will react. Their head football coach is weird (but actually has started to win more) and now their basketball coach has continually done this type of thing.

From what I saw and heard, he pulled his mask down in the handshake line when he shook UW coach Gard's hand and said "I'll remember that", Gard held up the line and stopped Howard to explain why he called the timeout. There were 15 seconds left in the game when the TO was called, UW up by 14 and UM pressing the scrubs. They only had 4 seconds to get across half court, but if they called a TO they would get a reset and would have 10 seconds to get over. After Gard stopped him (and Gard is about 5'10 to Howard's 6'9 or whatever) Howard put a big finger in Gard's face and then grabbed Gard's shirt and shoved him around some. Several cops were intervening as well as UW staff, in fact both Gard and Howard had kind of been removed from the center of the scrum, UW assistant Joe Krabbenhoft came over to get involved and whatever he said, Howard took exception and waded back in and took an open-handed swipe at Krabby's head. A few small skirmishes broke out among each team's players. UW staff and cops got things sort of under control and the teams left the floor.

I call BS on the "touching" in the line, for crissakes, those guys are always hugging each other, leaning in to talk after the game, etc. There's no reason to "protect" yourself, as Howard put it, because some little coach guy wants to hold you up when you try to give the handshake blow bye.
