Not sure if Oliver's ready. Maybe so.

On another thread I mentioned former Utah assistant Tommy Connor, played for and coached with Majerus and was assistant to Larry Krystkowiak.

I would think Jacobson's assistant at UNI might be able to take us where we want to go - P.J.Hogan.

Is Geoff Alexander over at UIUC ready?

DoubleDeuce mentions Judson, who I've always liked - was an assistant to the HC at Indiana, Marquette, and now at DePaul. Train may have already left the station tho?

Prohm and Roger Powell, both excellent choices.

Norm Roberts (Kansas). Seems when we get coaches with roots and ties to KU good things happen.

Jerrence Howard is currently assisting at Texas under Beard. Previously, he coached under Self at Kansas. He's a Peoria native and was at Illinois from 2008-2011 and reportedly has good connections to Chicago.

He’s been an assistant for so long that I think at this point he’s comfortable in that role. Howard is making $400,000 at Texas.

Roger Powell Jr. is my first phone call.

Not saying he’s old. He’s been an assistant for 15 years and hasn’t taken a job yet. So why ISU? Not saying no, but just don’t see it happening.

This is a good job in a decent conference. Until recently, ISU had a solid BB tradition. Let's make it a quality hire!

I posted on the Muller Poll thread a few weeks ago

Jerrance Howard - assistant coach and lead recruiter Kansas and now Texas. Peoria native and played at U of I

Bob Richey - head coach at Furman. He was under Niko Medved at Furman. He has coached at Furman for 5 years and won over 70% of games. Beat Loyola at Loyola in 2018 year after final four. Has not made NCAA tournament though.

Ulric Maligi - assistant coach with Beard in Texas Tech and Texas. Worked under Larry Brown at SMU

Robert Powell Jr - assistant coach Gonzaga and for Valpo under Drew. Illinois connections and father ex ISU great.

Brain Michaelson - assistant coach with Gonzaga since 2013 and held other basketball roles there since 2008. He is young at 40

Dennis Gates Cleveland St - turned around a program in shambles. Made the tournament in second year. Worked under Leonard Hamilton. He was an assistant coach at NIU and graduated from Whitney Young High School in Chicago.

Dean Oliver - assistant coach at Wiscosin and of course ISU. I think losing him and Yak was the start of the coaching staff getting much weaker. He worked with our guards and I thought he did well.

Hard pass. Sub-.500 at St. John's, including two losses to the Redbirds of Porter Moser.
