Reeves is officially in the portal
Who gets to stay??

I think the title of this thread is a little vague. To me, "Who gets to stay" implies those that want to stay, "get' to stay. My sense is that Reeves would get to stay if he wanted to but it looks like he won't stay.
That being said, just because someone goes into the portal doesn't necessarily mean they are leaving. Ndiaye entered the portal last year as an example and came back, correct? I'm not sure what percent of kids enter the portal come back and from what some are speculating, the odds of Reeves coming back are extremely low. My only hope is that Reeves and coach Pedon have an opportunity to connect and get to know each other and for Reeves to be open to staying if he feels a connection and aligned with coach Pedon, our style of play and the direction of the program.
While I don't think the term "portal" existed back when Porter got fired, I do remember there being a very high probability and speculation that Osiris was going to transfer and he ended up giving coach Jank a chance and ultimately, decided to stay.
I have no attachment or concern either way. It's interesting with Antonio, pretty much everyone respects him, thinks he's a great kid and there's no hard feelings if he leaves, to the degree that it appears everyone will be cheering for him no matter where he goes. That's a really good sign of the quality of kid he must be. I haven't met or connected with any of the players or their families in recent years but I can say that I'm very much at peace regarding who stays and who goes and understand there's a bigger picture at play.
Time for coach Pedon to create his team and see where this goes. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy seeing what unfolds with no attachment to the outcome other than hoping for the best.....
