Where have you gone football coverage from Goredbirds.com?

At the risk of sounding ungrateful for the minimal coverage that does exist, does anyone know what ever happened to what was once solid coverage of the football program? It wasn't long ago where we had spring recap videos, The Next Step video series (preseason), video (and audio) highlight recaps of games, a number of photos of the game, etc.

The lack of coverage can't help but make me question the athletic department's commitment to football. It's a shame that I can't find video highlights of last night's game.
If there is a funding issue, can the department not collaborate with some video/communication majors who are looking to build their portfolio/resume?

I agree .. it seems to have fallen well off. Certainly if the pandemic has disrupted these activities combined with less fans/views .. I can see why it fell off during spring and fall of 2021. But there should have been an effort to reinstate these things in 2022 to give them a chance to generate more fan interest. We do better than most schools financial .. we should be less impacted. I say this having no idea how others have been impacted.

I also agree with Chi's comments. I used to go to Goredbirds.com regularly but I almost never go there anymore. There is nothing there so why bother? I go to this forum where the regular posters keep me up to date with what is going on and I go to Prarie State Pigskin on a regular basis. I would expect a more robust effort by the athletic department on the official website but it just seems there is not much effort. That is a shame.

I follow a member of the softball team, a relative of a friend here in Madison keeping her posted on how her niece is doing, and they went the whole season w/o posting or updating the season statistics. No batting averages, hits, etc. I wrote an e-mail to the AD and never heard back. Part of the same problem I assume.

Could it be due to reallocation of staff resources, prioritizing NIL/social media on behalf of student athletes? Remember they added two positions in those areas. Or at least reassigned positions.

That is terrible .. Zero excuse for not keep stats current. Some sports have lot of games, but once a week updates is NOT too much to ask and expect.

AD needs to find the budget and make it happen. Interns or Grad assistants can do this in their spare time.

Not that hard. This is inexcusable !

I was thinking about this on a different level today, was going to start a thread, but saw this one to piggyback. Hope people jump in to comment. Theoretic question: Did pulling out of the spring season football season hurt our credibility on many other levels?

Just like you all, I listen to a lot of podcasts and FCS shows. I realize we haven't put a product on the field that is very noteworthy the past few seasons, but we still AREN'T the bottom of the best FCS conference in the land. I feel like the last two seasons, ISU has been relegated in mentions as if we are being low-key black-balled. It could be my imagination, but I don't see myself as a complete'homer', but rather just observant. It's almost deliberate work on the FCS shows to not mention that ISU even has a team. Listen, it could be me.

We finished at the bottom of the conference last year. ISU 2-6 and YSU 2-6. That's the bottom.
