I would of liked to see the MVC add quality schools in sports other than a DII move up league or a downsizing/methodical thinking programs graveyard.

Wasn't Evansville D2, before they were in MVC?ISU85 said:crazzymark said:I would of liked to see the MVC add quality schools in sports other than a DII move up league or a downsizing/methodical thinking programs graveyard.
What Division II schools are you talking about?

Unfortunately, the same year (1977) they went D1, they lost their entire team in the plane crash.Humdinger said:isuquinndog said:Wasn't Evansville D2, before they were in MVC?ISU85 said:What Division II schools are you talking about?
No sir not directly D2 to MVC. Went D1 in '77 and a well established program by the time they applied for MVC membership.

Would agree with that; the delicate balance of private/public that seems to need to stay intact. The pandering to private schools is what angers me the most about the MVC. Adding a program like Valpo that doesn't bring 500 fans to St Louis when you could have had Murray State who would bring a few thousand at least. But, but, but they have football and we can't have that in the MVC. It's better for the public schools to have to ship our teams off to Timbuktu. Now WIU is probably on their way to the OVC and a lousy decision like that screws the publics over even more.
