Gotta give the kid kudos for speaking his ming - as quoted in Peoria Journal Star
"This is a bad loss," said Childs, who had 14 points and 11 rebounds. "Illinois State is not a good team to me but they brought the fight to us and we knew we had a target on our back and knew they were going to bring the fight.

Maybe the Birds will change his view with a few more wins before they head over to Peoria. Certainly Bradley will remember this game!! They will be ready for the rematch at Carver. In this instance I am guessing BU was looking past the Redbirds and thinking about their upcoming weekend games against Loyola. DM needs to file that quote and bring it out 48 hours before the rematch!

Disrespect is a great motivator. I recall in the Last Dance series that Michael Jordan would go as far as convincing himself that the opponent disrespected him even if it never actually happened. If I remember right, Jordan was pretty good.

Maybe Mr. Childs does not understand a rivalry game? Throw the records out because they are meaningless! Go Birds!

I'd have respected him less if he had said something like "We knew ISU was a great team and we just couldn't match their talent and coaching." I think most people would agree with what he said. Our team shouldn't get mad about it, they should just try to get better. Hopefully we've turned a corner but I fear a payback is coming at Carver. Get a couple of wins this weekend and we're on a roll.

Even if we win two against Valpo, its Valpo...basically a high school team.
Honestly, this fan base has been beaten into submission for so long (23 years and counting) that the bar has been set lower than a pregnant ant’s belly.
Never ceases to amaze me....

Well, would you rather lose? If they win 2 this weekend, they still have the 2 against SIU and UNI. They have their fate in escaping Thursday night in their own hands. Not a high bar but you gotta start somewhere.

Actually, yes. This team has no chance of doing anything so let’s hope for 1-17 and blow it up.
Honestly, the sooner we put a bullet in this horse with a broken leg, the better.
Go Valpo!

Hate to burst your bubble but we already have two conference wins. You can always root for 2 - 16 though.

Cal Bird.....at one time I respected what you said. Now, you have become so negative that i just read a word or two and stop reading. You have become tiresome. I know you are better than this.
agreed ~ even when someone agrees with Cali, they apparently do not agree at a sufficient enough level

Of course I want the Redbirds to succeed.

All I’m saying is it’s time to force change. Muller is clearly not the guy, and this streak of bad basketball is agonizing. We deserve better and if means tanking to force that change, then so be it.

I always find it hard to root against my team even in those rare cases where it might benefit them. But this isn’t one of those cases, I agree as does 90% of the board a change is needed. But it isn’t happening, we are in the same spot as SIU was a few years ago. Dan will still be here next year. So I want the team to be as successful as they can be. If they shock us all with really turning it around, great! If not when they are able a change will be made. Unless someone on here is ready to put up 1.5 million or has a few rich friends willing to....
