So we're all agreed that recruiting is a crapshoot and it's probably best not to judge how good a player is until he plays for your team?

usually that would be the case but with dan as coach we know how it ends.

Totally agree with your sentiment - cripes sake, let the guy show up and at least give it a go before you crap on him. The top HS player from the state of Minnesota -- going to Gonzaga -- is 7', 190 lbs. Played at Minnehaha Academy, 350 students. You never know when the light bulb turns on.
We are but Jammin's punchbowl

Welcome to the program Liam!

Good Listen
36:35 - Craig Smith (Now coach at Utah) talks about Liam.
46:30 - Mentions that he was a 4 star recruit. it was down to USU, Minn and K-State came on late.

Only downside I see is that he is a Neil diamond fan.

A bunch of your guys seem upset by this signing for some reason. You can't teach height. While I'd like this kid to add at least 25 lbs before he ever takes the court, there is an outside chance he is still growing and might be a 6'11 225 with what seems to be some excellent footwork in the paint with 4 years of eligibility. Now, in this world of "the rules are made up and you can just enter a transfer portal whenever the hell you want for any reason with no penalty", the eligibility almost does not matter, but in a decade prior, this would have been a big get. Of course, I said the thing about BOTH Ndiayes over the last decade, so what do I know?
With the current NCAA rules, it is hard to care about who we sign anyway because there is no longer any sense in thinking about what they could be 2-3 years down the line because the odds are that they won't be here.

Some kid from French Lick, Indiana probably had not faced high quality comoetition prior to being signed by Big10's Indiana University.
Finally watched that documentary about Bird and Magic (“Courtship of Rivals”).
Awesome!

I second that. Doug Collins was a scrawny kid from a small town in southern Illinois who became the top pick in both the NBA and ABA drafts; I have no expectation that Liam will be a Bird or a Collins, but I agree that assessments should not be made until seeing him play at the college level and that the caliber of competition in his past is not necessarily an accurate barometer of his talent. In the current environment, however, I share the fear that any recruit who shows a lot of promise once he gets PT in college in is a transfer risk.

or maybe not judge what the recruit may/not deliver based solely on the recruiter?

This kid looks offensively like a hybrid Taylor Bruniga and Hawkins. I see him playing the stretch 4 position. Outside spot up shooter with some post moves

You can see what he looks like on the court in the last 6:25 of this game. Skip to 1:08:35. Scored a basket and had 2 rebounds.
