Stats aren't gaudy, but he started almost every game and was a core player for WCU. Record wasn't outstanding. He looks like he can shoot the trey. If I recall from WCU stats, he didn't foul out of a game all year (let's hope he played some D tho!!). Glad to have an experienced big man ready to go.
A big man never fouling out, but playing every game is a real question mark.

Based on their defensive stat rankings (in the 300s), the fact that they were mostly undersized (Joe was the tallest player by far, save for 1 6'9 frosh), and that they only averaged 16 fouls per game, my guess is they probably weren't playing a ton of in your face, physical defense to warrant foul outs. That said, there were 3 guards who fouled out during the year for them.

I agree he made 58, 3s last year and shot 35% from 3 point range, that tells me that for a big he can shoot it really well especially from the outside. I just feel its telling when he says " I didn't feel the system as Western Carolina was perfect for me, and I feel Illinois State has exactly what I was looking for." Maybe he wants to be used in a different format to take advantage of other aspects of his game, that may not have shown up on tape or in his game.
No sense arguing over it, but the kid says "definitely a big time shooter" as his first description of his game. However you interpret that. Whatever the rest means, who knows? Fine with me if he wants to get his 224 lb. fanny down in the paint. We need him down there.
