I posted over in the recruiting thread but will share here. I get Teddy Hawkins type player from Joe. Tall, but wants to play on the perimeter. He shot something around 30 free throws last year… that suggests he doesn’t spend much time down low. He’ll be a pick and pop guy*.Looks like he was on the perimeter a lot at Western Carolina
From 3 - 5.3 shots per game 34.5%
From 2 - 1.8 shots per game. 54.4%

*In Mullers system. No idea how Pedon will use him.

Based on the video I've see and the reports I've seen of him I'd say this is a pretty spot on comparison. Wouldn't be surprised to see some Hi-Lo game with him at the top of the key and Lewis on the block.
Yes.Welcome, glad to have you at ISU!!
He looks really smooth around the basket from the highlights I have seen. Based off of that I seen I agree with DWRedbird. My guess is a high low game with Lewis and/or Knight down on the block. Petrakis made a reference that he felt he wasn't used properly at WCU so that suggests to me that he will play more in the paint or high/low setting as mentioned before. Love the get and feel that Pedon and company are getting guys like this that fit a system that they want to run.
Yes.
E.J. Liddell is built different than Petrakis, but a look at the OSU stats shows that Liddell was second on the Buckeyes on 3 pts shots attempted (only 4 shots from #1), and he spent quite a bit of time on top despite being built like a brick ____house. If Pedon runs some version of that offense, likely Petrakis will get some looks from the top of the key.
But the highlights also show Petrakis gets to the hoop, seems to know when and how to roll to the hoop/present himself, and isn't afraid to get n there. So, come on down!
Quote from this morning's Pantagraph article. I don't know what he means about not being used properly, but he looks to me to like to shoot it up.Kyle Young also took 51 shots from 3 point range. I'm just thinking that from what Petrakis said to Benson not sure Patrakis wants to take as many 3s as he took last year because he said he felt he wasn't used properly. Benson also suggested that his battle for playing time will be between Schmitt and Kotov.
When asked to describe his game, Petrakis said "definitely a big-time shooter and a guy who plays hard every possession and a smart player and a guy who values winning over anything. I haven't won a whole lot in college, and that's what I want to do."
I agree he made 58, 3s last year and shot 35% from 3 point range, that tells me that for a big he can shoot it really well especially from the outside. I just feel its telling when he says " I didn't feel the system as Western Carolina was perfect for me, and I feel Illinois State has exactly what I was looking for." Maybe he wants to be used in a different format to take advantage of other aspects of his game, that may not have shown up on tape or in his game.Quote from this morning's Pantagraph article.
