Very winnable game on our hands here. It's amazing how different the team looks when the threes are falling. WKU mostly played zone in the 1H, which suggests they don't think the shooting will be sustainable.
It seems the recurring theme with this team is just to survive the first 4-5 min of the game. If they can weather that storm, they could be in a good spot. What were they down early, like 11-2 or something? Came back and took a 6 point lead. They really should be up in the 6-8 range but got caught flat footed too much on D, which lead to easy layups and/or fouls.
They've gotta learn to play without fouling. Though I will say, there were probably 3 times in that half where it seemed the stripes were waiting to see the result of the play (whether the shot goes in, who got the rebound, etc) before deciding if they were going to make a call or not. Second half storyline to keep an eye on- Liam, DB, and KLew all have 2 fouls.
They also need to pass the ball to each other instead of out of bounds. Possessions where the ball moves side to side have been a thing of beauty that leads to good shots. More of that please.
Not sure if there is a shot chart of the made FGs but it seems like the vast majority of their shots are with 3 to 4ft. We need to stop the penetration
Glad to be down only 3 after the slow start and with Lewis and McChesney seeing limited minutes due to fouls and Luke due to illness.
Colton needs to get his feet under him and those shots will start dropping
