Figured I'd start a new thread as there will probably be plenty of action with players hitting the portal.

Bad news for Yak. Jace Carter is leaving UIC after averaging 16.6 points and 7 rebounds this season.

UIC is a commuter school - zero fan base. The Pavillon needs a serious renovation - seats are very small - no where close to what is in Redbird Arena.

I remember my fanny being much more comfortable last century watching the Doobie Brothers or Tom Petty there, than this century watching the Redbirds. Yes, new seats!!

The kid that transferred to Memphis very late then his family went on a crusade because he wasn’t eligible this year was insanely stupid. That hurt his roster and hurt the culture too.

Former Valley team obviously but wouldn’t mind us taking a stab at this one, has shown flashes but hasn’t quite put it all together. Didn’t get as much PT this year as he probably should of

I was wondering if we would reach out on this one. He kind of fits the bill that we have been talking about except only one year of experience. I have no clue on cultural fit. I see Valpo, Indiana St, and SIU have also contacted him. I thought his defense was decent so I am not surprised SIU is in the picture. Valpo is in desperate need of someone that can shoot the ball outside of 15 feet. He only shot 31.8% from 3 but that's a rock star for Valpo. I think with 4 Valley teams contacting it speaks to what the coaches thought of this freshman.

The intra-league transfers are going to take some getting use to. We have had Clay to MSU, Kent to Indiana St, and and Newton to SIU in recent years. Obviously Chastain transferred to ISU from Loyola. It looks like another trend that will happen more frequently now.
