Yup, that sounds about right. Purple Ben and Muller have by far the highest winning percentage of the coaches in the Valley (minimum 4 years coaching). Chris Holtman at Ohio St makes about $7.5 Million a year and has a winning percentage about equal to Dan Muller.

Ben Jacobson and Holtman are slightly different (been to NCAA Tournaments), but I guess I kind of see the logic.

Any idea what Loyola is? I heard Moser was north of $1.5m a year before incentives but that was just from alumni inside Loyola's camp.

I also heard $1,500,000 but not certain if that is base or all in and I heard that shortly after Loyola adjusted for the St John noise. Also heard that Moser was reluctant on St John in part due to tenure of current A.D. If the St John A.D. had not been so new Moser may have taken the job. Look for DePaul to be a potential landing place for Moser if Loyola does not leave the MVC. Several around him have stated he would like to coach at a higher conference level.

Guessing data was only published for public schools.

According to some Loyoyla folks - the first few years were front loaded for Moser to get thru first recruiting cycle. Pretty smart by Loyola

Smart said with success, the program can grow.

“We have to grow the men’s side to be in the Top 3 every year and that we’re expecting to compete for a championship and be in the tournament every year,” Smart said. “We’re probably not going to be in it every year — Wichita State didn’t win it every year — but you want to be in the hunt every year. You want to be in the NCAA Tournament every 2-3 years like the women have done. That’s a successful program.
