Just hope this season, he remembers how much he loves to hoop. I'm sure Spack wouldn't mind a 6'4+ weapon to through to...

I think to do it, he'd have to be on a scholarship that counts against football and not basketball. So if Spack wants to free up a schollie for the basketball team while Ty Pence plays for us, I'm down for that.

I was just messing around but if somehow Ty does end up playing both, the scholarship would be counted against the team with the fewest to offer. So, it'd hit the hoops number.

I thought it worked that way for every other sport but Football, to discourage teams from signing guys to swimming scholarships and what not

Could be. I just remember Bryant Allen and Levi Dyer were both on men's basketball schollies.

On the FBS level, a basketball/football player counts against football. I can't find anything that says anything different for FCS. But, football is an equivalency sport at the FCS level, not a full scholarship sport. So I'm thinking at the FCS level the scholarship must count against basketball. I just can't find it anywhere. That would explain Levi and Bryant.

If I'm not mistaken Levi used his 5th year to play football and didn't count against the basketball total scholarship numbers, and if I'm remembering right Bryant was recruited for football, and was going to play basketball second but got dismissed from the football team before the season started, and then ended up getting a basketball scholarship from Jank.

Hard to find much stat wise about SJO early. From what I can tell as of the 4th they are 4-0. Pence has games scoring 28 and 33. SJO is ranked 5th in 2A.

Can you give your opinion on his ceiling? Is he capable of playing good minutes immediately?
I haven't seen him live since last season. It was strange, It didn't seem like he did much and then you look at the stat sheet and he had 25 while essentially being triple teamed most of the game. I'll be seeing him in the next couple weeks and will be sure to share my thoughts.
