Does anyone have insight to when Ty Pence will verbal to a school? I am guessing he'll
make his decision once the summer AAU schedule completes but I have no idea when that
is.
Ty has a perfect situation in selecting ISU as once Knight plays his final year - the wing spot is Ty
Pence's for the taking. Close to home and he can be part of the foundation to bringing the Birds back
to prominence.
He'd sure look good with the 2 other recruits.

I give the staff credit - they've continued to contact/offer other wings but gut tells me this is the young man they want.

If I'm not mistaken he said he wanted to commit before his basketball season started so he can get it out of the way and just focus on his senior year, but he hasn't set any specific date.

The AAU season is complete.

Saw this on Twitter shortly after his last AAU game.

Total side note but I got to know Steve Forbes when he was an assistant on Porter's staff. Good guy, I wouldn't have expected him to become a head coach at an ACC caliber school but he's earned it and so far has done a good job there. I'm cheering for him, although not to get Ty Pence.
We have a lot to our advantage to land Ty, including his family connections to Illinois State, and his girlfriend.

This is not specific to Ty but we talk a lot about culture, the lack of in the previous regime and the goal for the new staff. The AAU program he is coming out of clearly has a solid established one. Guys who chose to play for and with each other as opposed to jumping for an Under Amour, Nike, or Adidas sponsored team. They all chose "we" over "me" which is incredibly rare in the AAU circuit, and it's worked out for them. Not only did they have extreme team success over the last three years (78-15 overall record), but their guys were able to be noticed by college coaches as well.
Owen Freeman - Iowa
Brock Harding - Iowa
Ty Pence - TBD D1
Ethan Kizer - TBD D1
Zack Hawkinson - TBD D2 but could be a sneaky D1, lead SHG to a State Title and State Farm Holiday Classic Championship
Danny Stephens - TBD D1? Holds an offer from WIU, followed by Walt Offutt
Justin Page - TBD D2
Ty Minor - TBD D2

There's a couple other guys on the squad to that could be late bloomers as well and find themselves playing college ball. It seems Pedon recognizes this AAU program is one to build a solid relationship with.
