Sometimes asst. coaches/staff these days come as a "package deal" with portal transfers. Maybe a "second seat" from a P5 to us may be the next hire for staff. Pure speculation, of course.

Are coaches in the transfer portal now? Or was this comment meant for another thread?

Former top 100 prospect 6'2 G Meechie Johnson just entered the portal from Ohio State. Averaged 4.4ppg this past season while averaging 18 min a game.

Just a little history on Malachi. He made the All State Underclassmen Team as a sophomore at Louisa County High School. He sat out his jr. season and reclassed to St. Anne’s-Bellfield School. That schools conference had players that went to Northeastern, Duke and Boise State. He was named 1st Team All Conference during his Sr. Season there. He was receiving interest from a number of D1 Programs after his sophomore year at Louisa County prior him missing a year. He’s a late bloomer and now seem to be getting his chance. I can’t wait to see him at Illinois State. Go Redbirds.
