OMG - Quarterback T. Roberson is in the transfer portal. The 4-star Must Have gift of the season.

YES TO THIS!! I just wonder how well we would look to anyone at this point w/o an o-coordinator, a rebuilding offensive line and not much weapons on the outside to throw to.

The first signing day is set for tomorrow. There will be another one in early Feb. We have a small but efficient group ready to sign. So far it includes only 1 transfer. Kobe Rios is a large OT from the Juco ranks.

What we really need imho, is a QB ready to hit the ground running in the spring. So far no dice. Some fans will say that we aren't in a strong position to recruit a QB based on last season. I would counter that we do have some factors in our favor. As I pointed out before, players want to play. If you're looking for a school that needs help at QB then Illinois State should be high on your list. We've also lost 1/2 of our Co-Coords on offense. That creates the potential for a package deal where a coach brings a QB or maybe it's more of a QB insisting we bring his coach. Former Redbird coach Brad Cornelson may not be retained as OC at Virg Tech. Maybe he comes in and brings a Va. Tech QB with him. Maybe former Redbird Coach Rod Carey (no longer HC at Temple) does the same. That may be reaching high, but you start by reaching high and if you miss you take what you can get. All avenues need to be explored. Creativity wins.

Lots of quality QBs in the portal. For anyone interested, Will McElvain - UNI (I would not expect him to transfer to MVFC school) has 12 D1 offers. List includes UCA, Montana, Chattanooga, EIU, SEMO, UTM, and North Texas among others.

If he's a read-option guy, he's got Cole Mueller....recreation of 2014-15, anyone?
Jackson State
he probably watched the basketball game against them and let that lead his decision.

Congrats to Bryce on committing to UIndy. I think this will be a great fit for him and he will have a chance to play to his strengths and get back to doing what has gotten him to this point. He will definitely have an opportunity to lead a solid program and hopefully compete for a championship. Spack said Bryce wanted to get closer to home (Indianapolis), so I'm very happy for him. His offers he posted were UIndy and EIU.

Bryce is a class act .. thru the ups and downs, he never lost his cool or behaved badly durin his stuggles. Never seemed to demonstrably blame linemen or receivers when things went wrong.

Really wish him well .. good kid and teammate, and certainly has some talent. Just needs to settle down some when he is under pressure to get rid of ball. But he wasn't just a dual threat QB who could run .. he had a very good pocket sense from the beginning. I never got that antsy feeling fans get watching him in pocket .. he knew when it was time to leave pocket and didn't really get happy feet about it.

Best wishes to Bryce Jefferson.

Geoffrey Cantin-Arku (Transfer from Syracuse) has offers from Illinois State, Robert Morris, Alabama A&M, Southern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Liberty, Samford, Chattanooga, Rhode Island, Stony Brook, Memphis, UTSA, Florida Atlantic, Buffalo, Old Dominion, Eastern Michigan, and UCONN.

Has recently been on visit to Memphis and Liberty. Probably a long shot on this one
