Birds have added some depth at QB. Kaplan started against ISU and went 18/36 with 191 yards passing, 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. He was not their primary starter this year. Should have 3 years of eligibility.

Wait! Is Mason done being a Valpo Beacon? They just added a 12th game to their schedule. They will play at New Mexico St. this Saturday. The game was not announced until today. Evidently they were waiting on NCAA approval to play the game. Maybe we should schedule a game for our guys at Florida Atlantic.

Johnathan Miller from Oklahoma. Had a dazzling run in the win over E. Mich. Injuries ended his career so Coprich didn't really beat him out.
I liked him. We sure could haved used him as season progressed and into 2012 playoffs .. our RBs were very beat up that year by playoffs. Matt Brown carried a heavy load.

No need to bring somebody in that's going to be the third string besides I like white and I like a couple of the backs they're really good

I think the biggest problem would be the secondary again LOL Frankie West is just extreme disappointment I'm not sure what he's thinking.

Unless he knows something that the rest of us don't about the future of the defensive look of the Redbirds next year. That is the biggest problem of signing local talent is because they haven't moved away from there home town and I wouldn't blame them from not moving away but at the same time focus on Florida Texas Missouri Indiana talent because these are players that want to play because they love the school.

Interesting that RBs from Murray State and Easter. Il have received offers. Spack said that they are recruiting Junior College talent levels that were previously unattainable prior to the new portal transfer rules. The big boys are cocentrating on the FBS portal for players who can now play immediately. Hence, JCs are loosing FBS opportunities.

Couple interesting possibilities in the portal from the Minnesota Gophers

6'7 305 lb OL Cameron James from Chicago Simeon, redshirt freshman this fall.

6'6 240 lb DL Austin Booker from Greenwood, IN, redshirt freshman this fall.

A couple others in there but not from "around here".

Could they bring Kenni Burns with them? Will trade Brock Spack.

I think they need to pick up a running back or two. Wright was great, he just had to fight injuries. Nobody else really stood out from the deep backfield we talked about pre-season. I hate to even say it but Mueller's injury was a pretty bad one. Will he be close to 100% by the fall? I sure hope so but if you are prudent you pick up a running back...or two.

Doesn't seem like it would hurt. I had high hopes for Rashad Lampkin and Sean Allen to step up but not much happened. Lampkin got 20 carries for 69 net yards, and Allen 2 carries for 7. Nigel and Pha'Leak both right around 150 yds for the season. Always a chance for improvement especially for Allen and Lampkin, and if Mueller heals he and Wenkers make a pretty potent #1 and #2 - but still, like you say, nice to have a little in reserve.

The “transfer portal” will become a flash in the pan 3-5 years from now. Players will realize the grass aint greener and switching programs aint worth posting on Twitter.
