Taste of “Redbirds”?

Has it occurred to anyone else how stupid the celebrated title of this ISU Athletics Department event is? Maybe I am just too literal, but the damn title suggests we’ll be fryin’ up our mascot for the faithful fans. Tastes like chicken? Who knows. It is a lame tribute to “Taste of Chicago” to start with, but if we need to keep the “Taste of” theme why not “of BN” or something similar?

Yup! It's only a tribute to Chicago, as Chicago is the only city in the history of Earth to hold a "Taste" event. You're trying a little too hard to jump on the "bash the AthDept train" with this one...

My concern is not with the name. My family will be there and we’re bringing four guests who are excited for the events for their kids and to try some food. Their only disappointment was when I told them the number of food vendors had dropped down. When they asked why, I said the best thing to do would be to ask DPDough.

This is an event that gets extra people out to the game. I like their added “trunk show” idea too. It’s always great to get people wearing Redbird gear.

We are looking forward to the event this year. It was "Taste of Redbird Country" back in the day. I like that name.

My wife and I made it to the alumni association event last year before one of the games and really enjoyed ourselves. They had a create your own sign thing where you could do a background and we took advantage to make a little announcement. Unfortunately, our son had a look on his face like they cancelled Christmas, otherwise it would have been perfect.
