Stat of the Day

[Total Red]

The stat of the day is yards per play. Here is the Game 1 YPP stat for 3 teams I think you're familiar with.

Green Bay Packers 57 plays 213 yards 3.7 YPP

Chicago Bears 65 plays 254 yards 3.9 YPP

Illinois State University Redbirds 60 plays 238 yards 4.0 YPP


What does this mean? I'd say it means that teams with good QB's still managed to suck offensively in Game 1. Expect it to get better.

Bizons (vs. Butler)

NDSU 59 plays -- 605 yds. = 10.3 per play

Will we get that much better?? Please.

so not that this is at all comparable, but we played Butler in 2017 .. that Butler team finished 6-5

first downs: 31 to 3 .. not a typo

Here is NDSU vs Butler ffrom 2019 - last week:

Total Yards: 605 to 198
first downs: 25 to 14

Here is YSU loss from 2018

Total Yards: 469 to 339
first downs: 20 to 22

I'd say that makes us #1 in FCS !!! :dance:
