Spring 2021 Schedule Released

I look at a lot of mock drafts and none that I have seen have Himmelman being drafted. So right now he's UFA unless he can improve his stock. So it's just my opinion, but I think it would be a mistake for him not to get this year on tape.

I caught the most recent Brock Spack show on facebook. Drew did not address his plans for next semester in the player interview but Coach Spack said that the scouts he talks to are recommending that Drew Himmelman play the 8 game schedule.

Even if pro hopefuls decide to play the eight game regular season the timing of the playoff games will be a big issue. The NFL draft is scheduled to begin April 29, 2021. The FCS quarterfinal, semi-final and Championships games will all be played in May of '21. So even if players like Himmelman and Uphoff decide to play the regular season they could pack up and leave for rookie mini-camps during the playoffs if they get drafted or if they sign free agent contracts. Sadly, the very best teams will be the ones most likely to be affected. This might be an opportunity for a lesser conference to sneak in and grab the FCS title and the MVFC regular season Championship may in some respects be more significant because it could be contested by better teams than those that appear in the playoffs.
