Just over thirty-four years since the men's basketball team played a meaningful game at Horton Field House. Time to change the last game designation from a L to a W.

Depending on the availability of McChesney, Petrakis and Poindexter, the further ends of the bench may be called upon for increased minutes again.

SIUE gave Bradley all the wanted last Tuesday before just falling short by two. They are improved; however, their record is only 5-3 against D-I competition (2-0 versus D-II).

Redbirds 71, Cougars 68

SIUE is a much better defensive team than Eastern and I beleive Belmont too.

I only saw them play once against Bradley. Their two smaller guards took the majority of shots but they were not efficient. Thst being said they do have 5 players averaging double figures.

I think ISU wins a close lower scoring game

I don't see any need to risk having any injured players recovered by conference season. If guys are ready to go then play them. I understand building chemistry is also important but I would risk a non-conference loss to be fully healthy going into the UIC game.

Hopefully they're ready to go, even if somewhat limited. We showed we can win extending the bench, which is good. Obviously Sandy going off was crucial.

I think the guys will be up for this game, but hopefully not TOO overhyped at the start. Protect the ball, hit FTS, we'll get the W. Should be an energized, noisy, fun atmosphere. Let's go!!!

Until the Belmont game, the Birds played very tight and nervous at home. They've settled in during each game, but I think this is a game they've gotta hit the ground running.

If you think about it, this is kind of an away game with a home friendly crowd. Sight lines and whatnot are completely different from what they are used to in RBA. Kudos to the facilities folks for getting the court up so quickly in Horton so the guys can have a couple days of practice in the building before gameday.

Malachi and Liam were limited participants in practice yesterday.

I was thinking of that very thing re: the sightlines and different building. I was glad when they facilities team started moving the floor right after the EMU game ended.

I'm sure they'll be more excited than nervous, just hopefully not overly so. If they got good energy from the crowd against EMU, they should really feel it tomorrow. It would've been great if they saved the BRMM appearance for tomorrow instead of the opener. I remember when they were there for Hoopfest years ago, it was absurdly loud 😄

The guys want this win extremely bad. They know with a win tomorrow they’re only 1 game away from a .500 team at this point. So just by that alone makes this a huge one.

I’m hoping that the Pep band will still be featured tomorrow- no video boards, etc. in fact, I haven’t seen a scoreboard set up in any pictures(clocks on the baskets as usual) but they did have a big classroom whiteboard set up at one end😁🤷

I bought tickets last night online. The email confirmation said the tickets are delayed. Does anybody know what that means? Will they be showing up in a text before the game? Just hoping I didn't waste $30.

A lot had this issue. Just show confirmation email at the ticket gate at Horton.

No matter how this turns out, this has been a very good game in a very good setting. Even some controversy with a Barone. Go Birds

Sissoko hadn’t played at all and made an impact. Gotta give him credit. Be easier on my blood pressure if we didn’t always start 1/10 or something. Pressure situation again and we found a way to win. Getting better.
