or EIU vs WIU. They are all in bad shape as respects to reputation, finances and leadership. Given all the turmoil at those universities I do not know how a parent would allow their kid to attend any one of them.

UIC would be second to UIUC (if measured by academic reputation/finances/enrollment) on the public side so they are actually doing well.

I think ISU and UIC undergrad pretty even, UIC obviously better with medical and research
