Phantom, et al .. I never sat in the zoo. On a scale of 1 to 10, how close was that thing to collapsing ?
At least a 6, probably higher. Word was it was pretty structurally dangerous when it was over-capacity and they were going to tear it down even before the remodel. The last few years of it's existence when it was packed to the very top most games, you could feel it creaking even in the first row. Probably wasn't as bad as the old bleacher seats in the upper bowl at pre-renovation SIU Arena, but pretty close.

Offense has got nothin' tonight . . . and the defense isn't any better . . .

And, my god, is the head ref really Adam Silver or his twin brother?

Hey you old fart season ticket holders...show up! The optic looks horrible on TV. I know that some of you were selling your season tickets for the game for $100 a piece nothing against making a profit but you need to be at the game and cheer them on. This is probably the season changing game ISU needs to make the playoffs. If it wasn't for hurricane Ian, would have been there this weekend for the game but my flight got canceled. (Yes I live in Florida.) I was going to travel 1,118 mile for the game, I'm sure you can travel a mile and a half or less for a game.Go you Damn Birds and win this game. Love the black mode uniforms. Big Time is a coming.
The optic at kick off was awful.

Yes, to the above comments, pretty grim at this point. Annexstad looks awful. No run game. Can't stop the doggies O one way or the other. Can't tackle.

And again, the broadcast and announcers are also awful. Have gotten the carrier wrong several times, at one point made a big deal of Birds "punting time and time again" and it was only their 3rd punt (okay, literally he was right, but he was making a big hairy deal out of nothing at that point). Keep talking about the sell-out crowd when the camera clearly shows empties.

And so obviously I'm not in my seat at Hancock tonight, I grovel before the group, I'm not sitting at home tho but rather at the cabin in Minnesota. My football weekends have been screwed up and out of sync ever since Labor Day. Will make it to Homecoming and the rest, as far as I can tell.

They’re really just uninspired and seem incredibly disinterested. No flow offensively, giving up at least 4 yards every play. It’s just…the same stuff we’ve been seeing the last couple years. Spack said on the pregame that the stagnant offense won’t be a concern like last years tragedy at SIU…well…the offense can’t stall if it doesn’t exist.

It’s been a long time since JR has carried the O and Tre and Shaun were running rapid. And yes. I know having Mueller would make a difference.

Assuming the second half follows suit, who is to blame for an underprepared team coming off the bye at home?

At this point, I wonder if having Muller might make a difference. ;)

Was front row in the Zoo that (and every) game. Still embarrassed that shitshow happened. Knew it wasn't a good idea when they started handing them out to us when we were walking in. I still have mine, FWIW...didn't throw it. Aside from that fiasco, that was a crazy fun day. More than 17K in the old stadium, two top-5 teams, perfect weather, and we whipped their ass.

Would love a repeat of that (minus the projectiles...though it would be great if we had a student section that rowdy again), on Saturday.

I paid $12.99 to get Wi-Fi on a plane halfway across the Atlantic to keep up w the game. Can’t get ESPN+. Can’t get Varsity.net. LiveStats are miserable.

Go to sleep. Forget the game. It seems the Birds did.

It has been dismal so far. I was thinking that same thing as someone else posted. This is the best preparation they can do coming off a bye with two weeks to prepare? Everybody was talking about the deep situation at running back. It looks like the RB stable was only two deep. The passing game is not great so if the Birds cant get some type of running game going this is going to be a long second half.

It is still early in the season, and I'm willing to write off the last two seasons being a result of covid, but if Spack doesn't get this team going I'll be fine not renewing his contract at the end of 2025.

2025?!? Another .500 season this year and my guess is next season will be Coach’s last chance to right the ship.

I actually thought an outside chance at an 8-3 season or at least 7-4. Now I don’t think so.
