Is it possible? Sure, the MVC is not a multi-bid league and currently this year, no one team has stood out in the non-con unlike years' past. Right now, we have 3 horses, which are MY, PF, and JJ. Right now, everyone else should be playing defense, setting the screens, clearing out, getting ready for rebounds, and protecting the 3 horses at all costs on the floor and take the defensive fouls for them.

UConn rode Kemba Walker for 2 years of 35+ minutes a night. Rode him all the way to an improbable 5 games in 5 days win streak in the Big East tournament for the BE championship and then the 6 game streak to the NCAA title.

Dan needs to make a phone call to this guy, whom took over a team of non-D1 talent and turned them into Dunk City. The MVC is not strong, which it has not been for a few quite a few years, and knowing how to maximize what your players do well can work at the MVC level.

Read Tim Layden's profile of Enfield over at SI. Enfield took Sherwood Brown, a walk-on, and Bernard Thompson, a guy who shot jumpers with two hands, and made them into the Atlantic Sun player of the year and Atlantic Sun defensive player of the year, respectively. He recruited Brett Comer, whose crazy passing skills and occasional scoring have been on display in the team's first two games. He turned Eddie Murray, who scored 11 points the entire season before Enfield arrived, into the guy who scored nine against Georgetown. He took Chase Fieler, whom Layden writes couldn't complete his first workout under Enfield without trying to vomit, into a guy capable of throwing down thunderous jams on anybody and everybody in his path. He took a team that lost twice as many games as they won in 2010-11 and brought them to the conference championship game the next season.
In 2012-13, he won that conference championship game. And then he beat Georgetown. And then he beat San Diego State.

Kemba walker is twice as good as those 3 combined.
Those 3 are good enough to lead ISU through to the NCAAs within the framework of the MVC conference and post season tournament.

I'm not so sure they can even beat Evansville at home.

Nailed it. The MVC is very down.

The problem with St. Louis, though, is that typically defense travels better than offense. Almost impossible to shoot well 3 days in a row.... hopefully they understand that, or that'll be a short weekend.

Still a lot to play for in the conference season for seeding.

Hopefully by MVC tourney time, some of the following can get it going with some offense: Chastain, Copeland, Bruninga, or Evans. I am also hoping that Idowu becomes that coke machine in the middle to allow Fayne more freedom to operate. Yes Idowu may be slower right now, that is ok, especially when you need him to just eat space 4 feet around the basket, knock people down going to the rim, and rebound. Plus, he should be able to set a wall of a screen. Finally, hopefully Tinsley would welcome the opportunity to do the other things, other than shooting the ball, needed on teams looking to make a run. I always think of Rodman type of player on those great MJ Bulls teams. Rodman could score, but he took to the task of being a superb defender and superb rebounder. This allowed the MJ, Pippen, and Kerr offensive show to work really well.
