That explains why he has them. Also explains why out of the schools he listed I'm reading Creighton is the likely front runner.
Creighton will probably be a top 5 team going into the seas with him. Maybe top 10 or 15 at worst without him.

He chose Creighton this morning, according to one sports network

Alright. What would it take to start an online store, sign players to get a % of sales for their gear, and charge enough to keep it going? 😂

This has nothing to do with Antonio. I hope he makes a mint. But.............. Does anyone really buy that crap?

Glad you asked that question?? And also, no offense to Antonio and I thank him for his contributions, but that merchandise is hot garbage. And expensive hot garbage.

The deal from strong sources in Chicago, as well as same info from a D1 coach, is that Reeves supposedly sold/bargained NIL rights for 200K plus a porsche.

I don’t think this is a “Tone gets a cut of sales,” situation. I think it’s more of a he gets paid for allowing this merch to be available, regardless of sales. It’s how a lot of big schools using NIL. They are literally paying for access to the players’ picture.

Man. I know the allure of a sexy car is hard to resist for anyone in their 20s, but if a player really wants to be able to set himself up in life you’d love to see them max out on the cash side and learn to invest. All the best to Antonio, but every player maxes out and fades away at some point; if his Kentucky season doesn’t lead to NBA riches, he may come to regret taking the car over the cash.

But maybe (probably?) it’s a year-to-year lease donated by a “wheel club” dealer, same as coaches and ADs get, and wouldn’t affect the overall package that much…

Yep. And...for "charitable" purposes.

Faith. Hope. Charity. Alive and well in the power structure.

Do you peeps understand now how hard it will be to keep a good player here for more than a year or two?? The numbers vary depending on source, but 200K puts you somewhere in the 3-6(%)percentile.

Plus a Porsche. Student-athlete? He. Hee. Heee.

God bless ya Tone.

Count on this. At some point...the system will implode. Even if a major fracture happens between Major U and Minor U and they go that route. It will still implode.

At least coaches (and schools) won't have to worry about FBI wiretaps. Boy, that's a good thing. Wow am I thankful.
