Redbirds take on the Panthers for the third straight game.

Last year on this court Horne was 3-10 from the field and 2-7 from three. Reeves was 4-6 from the field and 3-4 from three. Boyd was 0-4 from the field and 0-3 from three. Ndiaye didn't shoot.

Birds need to improve on their shooting and turnovers from the last two games. Birds did have 2 more rebounds when both games are combined but had 12 more turnovers.

Dusan played well both games. Our young guards need to take it to the basket and draw some fouls on the Panther guards. This is the big stage and we will see if our young guys step up to the challenge or shrink in the big arena.

As Valpo showed last year, anything can happen in St Louis.

Well, I just voted for NO. Iowa and that was their 1st vote. Hopefully, I am wrong.
I would like to see us win a game and take on Drake one more time.

Best draw the Birds could have received playing UNI, next would come Drake and then SWMSU. I honestly think that the Birds could win any of those games, a reflection more on the Valley’s lack of top to bottom strength than anything. Other than Phyfe, UNI doesnt have anybody over 6’6” that they are playing, so it is as good a matchup w/ the 4G offense as we’ll see. I’m happy they worked to get the ball to the block in the UNI series. Can we do it again after the Panthers have had a chance to see it and prepare? Will it force UNI to play the 3 point shot more honestly instead of being able to cheat out? Will the Panthers go after Dusan to create foul trouble after last weekend and can he keep himself on the floor while still playing D and getting rebounds?

Can the Birds keep Dusan close to the basket to rebound and run offense that will create open looks on the perimeter without the high screening 5? What can we show UNI different on the defensive end? The man didn’t work that great over the past weekend, but at least it provided a surprise for a few trips down the court and gives them something to think about. I am hoping for some defensive surprises on the level of when they first came out with the matchup zone this season. We will also see how the Birds handle changes that I would expect from Jacobson creating different looks from past weekend. Improved FT & rebounds kept them in the 2nd UNI game( it helped to have the 5 around the block) Washington, Fleming and Strong all follow shots which has helped when a couple of those guys are on the floor. I’m convinced that Horne needs to be at the point when he is on the floor -needed right now to minimize turn-overs and Fleming needs to go to the boards. Horne sees the floor better than anyone else, as well as being a drive/shoot threat. Hoping for the best, Go Birds.

The Birds have a chance if they take care of the ball and avoid 4 minute scoring droughts

Just read the Bradley Board. We had zero representation on either the MVC All Bench or Most Improved teams. As Rodney Dangerfield might say, “I (we) get no respect”.

We win. This is the most confident I have been since the last 2 min of the 2009 MVC tourney championship vs UNI
It depends if it comes down to the Johnny and Joe’s or the X’s and O’s. If it comes down to a last two minutes chess game- Jacobson and UNI win!

So, if the Redbird players make their shots and make their free-throws in the last two minutes and win, Dan out-coached BJ, But, if the Redbird players miss their shots and miss their free-throws in the last two minutes and lose, than BJ outcoached Dan. Guess that takes all of they credit, or blame, off the guys actually playing the game.
Kinda like when DJ had an opportunity to put the game away with two free throws at the end of regulation in the game last Saturday, but missed and the Panthers scored two points to send it to overtime, BJ outcoached Dan. But, If DJ would have made one (or both) of the free-throws, than Dan outcoached BJ.
Maybe the players should sit and let Dan and BJ throw on the uniforms and play the last two minutes.

You have a love fest with Danny. If we shoot our regular 3’s (make them), and continue to run our pathetic offense...we can win. You will be happy because your brother from another mother got a big time Thursday night victory. While the sane people understand we were well below .500 and are no where near even an NIT team.

However, if we shoot below .30 from three and stand around...we will lose. You cant get fouled, shoot free throws...while standing In the same spot 22 feet from the hoop.

A lot of it probably depends if Phyfe gets in foul trouble. If he stays on the floor he’s going to score at will again. I’d say the opposite since Dusan scored on him, but I expect us to Chuck up as many 3’s as possible and never throw it inside.

Getting ready to drive down for Thursday night basketball is depressing.

If Mahorsic gets in foul trouble it's over. I would pound it inside. I like the athleticism of Ndaiye...But he falls for every pump fake...and can't guard Phyfe.
