Not much to play for tonight. Best potential conference place is 8th with Redbirds W and Braves & Salukis L (ISU 3-1, SIU 2-2, BU 1-3 head-to-head).

I tell you what. When Reeves is on, they can't stop him. When he's off, he can't stop himself . . .

Is it me, or does it seem like Mahorcic is one of those kids that could get under your skin easily. Kind of looks like a jack-a$$ and then after he got that foul on phyfe, he ran back and kind of got into his personal space.

I actually like that we have someone that has some energy and a little swag. We need some toughness somewhere on this team and he plays hard. These type of guys can stick it to the opponent and get under their skin which of course I'm fine with.

Bounced back from an early 9-2 deficit, not as sloppy as last night. Can they follow with another twenty minutes?

and, being on CBSSN, having Steve Wolfe on color is a welcome alternative to Tim Doyle

At halftime, the Redbirds b-ball team has the same amount of turnovers that the football team had today. I hope we pull off a win to dampen the major disappointment the football team gave us today.

kind of quite in here tonight. There has to be a dozen Phyfe type kids in IL, we should have at least another one on our roster, those tall thin centers who shoot from the outside, are garbage.

Had a chance to blow it open early in the 2nd half, but . . . didn't.

No posts for almost an hour with everything that was going on? Every chance to win regulation and 1st OT and gonna lose in 2nd OT to compete the worst ever home conference season. Benders 5 win team won 2 home conference games

No one cares anymore. I’m just here because, like every other red-blooded ‘Merican, I love me a good ole fashioned train wreck.

One favorite covered and that was NO. Iowa. We all saw that game and it does count as a cover, but should not have been.

Hope this indicates that I'll get to see a lot of entertaining games in St louis.

After sitting in the 50 degree sunshine and watching the FB Birds self distruct, I didn’t have the strength to comment last night. 3 things stuck out to me in the MBB game; 1) the Birds tried to play man defense for really the first time since the first couple games of season-unfortunately they weren’t much better at it, so much for the defense improving with experience(which kind of leaves that the staff can’t teach it or the intensity required) and that the lineup doesn’t really provide help defense opportunities because of lack interior size. 2) the Birds actually tried to post up a big on the block and were somewhat successful with it, 3) the Birds actually do appear to have improved their FT shooting over the season, which has kept them more competitive. In my opinion too little-too late.

That kind of leaves us with a staff with the inability to recognize the need to change and/or coach all but the most rudimentary and repetitious of BB skills (free throw shooting) and unable to recruit/retain talent.
