Here we go ! C Wood in the Transfer Portal. Someone posted they thought #'s would be in high teens. I say low teens but it will be key components like this. Water is in the Bird Cages and needs to be corrected fast. As a coach, be open-minded, listen to new ideas, and be willing to evolve with your sport. Closed-minded and stubborn coaches eventually fall behind. But some of you would say next man up !

going to wait and see until this actually develops before reacting either way. Ive heard rumors of dissension in the ranks ... we'll see how this materializes ... 1 key transfer does not make this a "thing" yet.

Jack Baltz has entered the portal. I don't think this should surprise many. Leaves us with 5 quarterbacks for the fall. Potentially room to add a transfer

Yeah, not a great look here. If the kids are so excited about transferring that they are putting literal screengrabs of the email on twitter, that shows a pretty upset culture. Also, though, it shows a level of immaturity that other coaches may pick up on. One would think that "Today I decided to enter the transfer portal. I'd like to thank my teammates and coaches for the time, energy and opportunity at Illinois State and wish them incredible success next season and going forward." would sell themselves a little better to coaches who might be shopping what has become the waiver wire.

Here's a fun fact about Trenton Hatfield. He was a Safety for the 2019 season and he remained there for Spring '21. As most of you recall, starting QB Brady Davis was injured late in the 2019 season. We survived a close game against Missouri St. as Davis played in the first half before becoming injured. We weren't as lucky in the final game of the regular season scoring just 3 pts. in a loss to Youngstown St. Hatfield had been a QB much earlier in his career and he reminded the coaching staff of that in a text. Hatfield not only got moved to QB, he made it on to the field at North Dakota St. when starting QB Jefferson lost his helmet and had to come off of the field for a play. Imagine that, from Safety to 2nd string QB and on to the field in a playoff game.

Woods and Grimes! That sucks. Is this kinda of a Covid year fallout or has something happened within our program? I know in basketball a lot of people are moving around.

Why are ISU assistant coaches retweeting these passive-aggressive tweets and screen grabs?

What's going in Normal? 😳

Other than woods and Grimes the other player transfers are backups like I've never heard of the running back that is transferring out cuz I know he was on a practice squad but there's a lot of talent there so I understand it and I know that they were trying to make him a defensive back and he'll probably transfer to division 2 School

So the football program, has transferred seven players out of 75 on the roster compared to the basketball team that has already four and probably going to have five or six transfers out of a 12 man squad
