I dont think coaches or players are very focused on the amount of minutes they are playing this year. Two games in two nights then they wait in hopes covid doesn't happen.

I watched most of that game yesterday and I have to say that the guys didn't look bad at all. Where has this been for 2 months?

Drake went into yesterday’s game knowing the Redbirds are, at best, cannon fodder. Honestly, it’s hard for a team to get up for a game like that.
Look for Drake to come out with a vengeance today and easily cover the -17.5.

I figure Drake will be at their best today. Anything under a 12 point loss will be a positive. They won't shoot so poorly from 3pt land this time around.

Let's see how our young guys respond. Reeves was on fire yesterday. Horne was getting visibly frustrated at Drake's hand checking. Washington just like so smooth taking it to the rack. His defense is coming along as well. Fleming's shot from deep looking good. We need their young legs to bounce back tonight.

And Cali will be back in his comfort zone.

I disagree with saying it is hard to be ready for a given team. If you are an athlete you prepare for every game, period. I do agree the 17.5 spread will be more attainable tonight. This is more mental tonight. ISU being so young and Drake being full of Veteran players is going to be a huge advantange for them. Trying to refocus a young team that let a big road win slip away is difficult, and the reward is you get that team in 24 hours again. Also I was looking at the MVC so far this year, many back to back have been split or one game is a blowout and the next is close. SIU beating NIU and losing the night before was a headache worthy to me. Moser and his crew losing one to Indiana State. Missouri State reminds me of ISU the last few years. I think they went 10 minutes without a point last night. I guess you would think that the top Valley team should win easily against the bottom level teams but playing these back to backs has made it interesting.

Now, that was fun to watch. I absolutely wanted a win, but the effort was there. It was the 1st game I have not turned off in a while that I was able to watch from start to finish. I look forward to seeing how we respond tonight. Reeves was great, but so was their guy at 10 for 10 from the field.
I agree with many posters. Let's get Washington the ball in space. He can go to the rack.

I wouldn't say that at all. Drake played hard. They just didn't shoot it at the clip they normally do. Absolutely nothing to do with effort or motivation. DeVries has those guys locked in every night.

Drake needs to fire DeVries. No good coach would almost get beat by Muller. While we are at it, why does Jacobson still have a job? In fact I can't believe any coach in the mvc still has a job that has ever had a losing record.

If Drake comes out and shoots better from deep today that is definitely Miller's fault. A good coach can control all aspects of the other team. That's why all good coaches never lose a game.

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. DeVries has been at Drake how long? Dan is in year 9. I get the sarcasm, and actually appreciate it but they are 15-0 and we are 5-11. I'll take what they have everyday.

One thing I liked from yesterdays game: Drake came out of the locker room with a swagger and knocked the 'Birds around a little bit. But ISU punched right back and that swagger wasn't the same toward the end of the game or in overtime. Nice if that can carry over to today.

I was getting frustrated with the hand checking and I was just a spectator.

Yes, I’ll take what UNI has done in the last 9 years. He lost his best player this year and still could finish higher than us. Don’t look at one season or one game. Look at the body of work. I’d take him in a heartbeat.
So he gets leeway because he lost his best player. Muller lost his but that didn't matter. Also pretty sure you all would have lost your minds with his record 4 of the last 5 years.
