Congratulations to Paul DeJong and the St. Louis Cardinals on winning the Central Division and on to Atlanta for the first round of playoffs - the NLDS!!!!!

Also, first Cardinals SS in history to hit 30 HRs in a season and now holds the record for most HRs in a career for a Cardinals SS. The Cardinals traditionally have not had a "power" hitting SS. Still have not been able to replace the "M" in Big Mac Land at Busch Stadium.

Congratulations to Paul DeJong on getting to the NLCS!!!! I see where he sent out a tweet on Thursday.

My only recommendation - quit trying to hit a home run with every swing, which is causing you to pull off the ball. Put the ball in play and good things will happen. Strikeouts do nothing.

Have you watched baseball this year? That is baseball. Home run or strike out.

Oh Good Lord. Baseball has been and will always be my favorite sport. I watch baseball every night - I do not miss a Cardinals, no matter where I am at and if they are not playing - I will watch another game. What is/has happened to baseball the past couple of years at the Major League level is awful and PATHETIC.

Manfred is a horrendous commissioner - knows nothing about the game. Similar to the Cyber Metrics folks, it is all about numbers by people who never played or managed. This is why the game today is terrible. Strikeouts are the worse thing for offense and a batter. People who do not put the ball in play - should stay in the minors. If you cannot field your position, find a seat on the bench.

Manfred has ruined the baseball - it is now like a cue ball. My former roommate who is a pitching instructor and scout - had one of his "students" bring him a baseball he used in AAA versus what a MLB baseball is now - quite the difference. I would have not believed the difference until I held each baseball myself. The hardness of the ball, is a reason more players are getting injured by foul balls off of their legs - also, a reason more fans are getting injured. The ball comes off the bat with more velocity and is harder. Same with concussions for catchers and umpires on foul balls - that was very rare. Now, occurs on a weekly basis.

You may not like it. My point is this is baseball in 2019. And the teams that are best at sabermetrics, including the Cards, are the ones still playing in October. It works, and this was coming well before Manfred.

Bump with a question.

Hard to argue with above. Did you see the quote from Manfred about the WS trophy being just a piece of metal? And Turner's heartfelt response to that?

Question. The Astros. Sign stealing, picking up on tipped pitches, etc has always been a part of the game and within gamesmanship (unspoken) rules. The cameras, though...identifying signs and having a relay system, is total cheating. Total. If Rose is still out of the game of baseball, I believe the WS title should absolutely be stripped. Gives you a distinct competitive advantage. Bold cheating.

Your thoughts? Or anyone?

PS. I believe Rose should have been banned but I think forgiveness has been due for plenty of time.
