Yeah it was just a gimmicky name. It was fun to be front row again but not like the old days lol. But that's what I was getting at...if they REALLY wanted to do a Student for a Game promo, then the idea should be to make a student section full of alums who want to actually get involved & bring some energy. It could happen and be a lot of fun with the right run-up and promotion. I also know a lot of former cheerleaders and band members would love to perform at such a game.
I'd trade in my season tickets for that game to sit in that section. That would be a fun time.

The two alums I was with at the UNI game said the same thing. And I've talked to others who'd be down as well. Let's start the groundswell...it'd be both fun and kinda funny to have a full section of alums standing & yelling all game. Plus they sell beer now too...

...which is probably why they won't promote or encourage alums to pretend to be students lol

I've had that thought. I think we could probably easily fill a section in the lower bowl that when fans purchase the ticket, they know this section stands, cheers and gets into the game. If you don't want to do that, opt to sit elsewhere.

Join us in Section 113. We like to cheer and stand. Of course, the standing part is why our group has seats in the last few rows, plus it makes it easier to get to the restroom during timeouts.

That would be almost as fun as the time Redbird Recon and Go Redbirds made me a “student for a day” by sneaking me into Arch Madness student section for our semifinal win vs Wichita in 2015.

It was a blast being down there, but the student section behind the baskets actually sucks in terms of being able to see: it’s set way back from the court and completely flat rather than tiered bleachers.

As someone who had front row seats at the Horton Game, I 100% agree and it was 100% the most fun Ive had at a game recently. My buddy and I were having a blast and stood for the last half of the second half. Dont care that the people behind us had to stand too, it was the game to be loud and involved.
