@ProFootballHOF

With 111 scrimmage yards today, RB
@Robinson_jamess
would join Arian Foster as the only undrafted players in the common-draft era with at least 2,000 scrimmage yards in their first 20 career games.
He had a total of 101 yards to based on this, he has 1,990 scrimmage yards in his first 20 career games. Safe to say he's 2nd all time in total yards from scrimmage behind Arian Foster on that list.

thanks for posting Mel.

Well, he got so frickin close and injury bug clearly doomed his chances .. but he was just as clearly in the hunt to be rostered. Not the ending we wanted, but very impressive story still .. historic level interest coming out of college as a QB into CFL as a CB, then drawing the most interest in a CFL player in 10 years. It took 2 injuries to knock him out of NFL contention. Hope he gets another shot ... but the injury thing will haunt his next shot, if he gets one.

Still an impressive story .. way to go Tre !!!! Keep tearing it up in CFL !!

I enjoyed the watching the Appalachian St one more
I was at a watch party when I saw it live ... talk about pandemonium. I mean, it's very rare to block an XP, much less a walk-off game winning block. Big step up for Spack's Redbird program to win that road playoff game to get us to quarters against a perennial power.

Woods was named Big 12 newcomer of the week
Impressive .. see linked article and post game interview. He was already earning more reps as #2, then guy ahead of him went down Q2, and he came in and killed it. Good for him.

Not thrilled with his leaving - guessing he left for couple reasons .. improve his chances at next level, and maybe wasn't real happy here .. or assumed our DL would suck this fall with how pandemic and spring decimated our DL. Plus all 3 of his 2019 DB mates were gone for spring ball - only one to graduation - so that had to suck to be left behind.

I'll say it again .. that 2019 DB group was the best ever for ISU, and probably the best in FCS in 2019: Kirk, Uphoff, Taylor, and Woods. They had 4 FBS level starters in that group.

:sneaky:

If I recall we were at a bar just outside the Yum Center where the refs had just screwed us out of a win at Louisville. The bar was packed with Redbirds and as the snap occurred the tv went blank, we sat there for a split second and then someone on the other side of the bar yelled the extra point was blocked and the place erupted!!! One of my most favorite Redbird moments. I believe at least one RBF contributor was there with us.

The fball win helped sooth the bball screw job.

I remember it well. We had seats in the Yum center about 2 rows from the top. The players looked like ants. I recall the bar being about 1/2 block away. What a great moment!!

Our seats sucked, too. We must have been fairly close to you.

Shelby just blocked a FG attempt with 8 minutes to go in a tie game.

James Robinson injured in Jags game yesterday, bruised heel? Could be out for a while.

After the game, coach Urban Meyer updated his status. As it turns out, he did not injure his ankle but rather suffered a bruised heel in the loss to the Seahawks. Meyer said that he does not know the extent of the injury or how long Robinson will be sidelined.

It was a great trip followed by a nice meal at the Beef House on the way home. We were in the nosebleeds for sure. I remember running into Jackie Carmichael a few days later and asking if he could hear us. He said, "It was faint, but we could hear it."

If memory serves, we were watching on a stream in the bar. This would have been the early days of an ESPN+ kind of platform. The ball was snapped, the bar was quiet, the stream froze. A "block that kick" chant started. Then the stream resumed and the kick was blocked! That was a fun one.

Signed QB Danny Etling to the practice squad. Placed LB Pita Taumoepenu on injured reserve. Activated CB Essang Bassey from the reserve/PUP list. Promoted RB Damarea Crockett, ILB Curtis Robinson, OL Quinn Bailey and OL Drew Himmelman. Placed CB Duke Dawson on the practice squad injured list.
