Bummer news item in today's Minneapolis Star-Tribune:

"CB Tre Roberson walked with a noticeable limp and didn't practice Monday".

It's the only thing about Tre I've seen this season so far.

I saw a Twitter video of Tre making an interception during a scrimmage but I can't find it now.

Shelby Harris just sacked the QB, caused a fumble, and recovered it for the Broncos.

Spack needs put this in his recruitment portfolio .. especially when he's going after the 2-3 star tweener types who worry the NFL won't ever notice them. This is very good for program and recruitment .. MVFC and ISU are on NFL radar obviously.

p.s. this, the 3 straight playoff appearance, and the 3 straight MVFC APR 1st place awards .. parents, ahem .. most parents will be very impressed by latter of these 3 important accomplishments when giving input to their HS kid considering G5 schools versus upper tier FCS schools. They want to know their kids are being held accountable in class room .. and that ISU will help them be more likely to graduate on time.

I didn't realize Harris had been dismissed from ISU. Can anyone tell me why?

Tre Roberson played some last night with the Vikings, looked like mop-up minutes basically. Didn't watch the whole game, but looked like he got in for maybe the last 7-8 minutes or so. Saw him make a couple tackles, get beat once over the middle on a slant, also defend well a couple times.

complicated story .. he had a series of minor incidents. Team mates all swore by him as great guy. Part of his problem was with Normal police and how hard they target ISU students .. part of it was just typical college student stupidity. But from what I understand, the last straw for Spack was him being accused of beating a girl ... except that it never happened, and the girl soon after recanted. I can't get into specifics, but basically Spack dismissed him over the optics before it was recanted. And when you consider the number of brushes with law given the Nazi state of Normal, IL .. he was really misunderstood. Different town and none of this rises to level it did.

Of course, the false accusation that went away quickly didn't stop OSBF from repeatedly claiming here and on AGS that Shelby beat a girl ... it NEVER happened, period. And he lost his 2013 senior season as a result. Despite getting dismissed ... Shelby stayed in school at ISU for a full year, stayed completely out of trouble, and kept working out until he was drafted a year later. Coaches stood by him even after dismissing our best defensive player for optics of situation.

Thank you, fourthandshort. I appreciate that.

EDIT: btw, Harris had highest grade of any player in the league this week -

Interior defender: Shelby Harris, Denver Broncos, 93.8 overall grade
Harris’ overall grade of 93.8 was the highest of the week at any position, as was a dominant force against the Packers. Not only did he rack up three sacks and three hurries for a pass-rush productivity mark of 25.0 (tops among interior defenders), he also notched three run stops for a run stop percentage of 27.3.

James O'Shaughnessy looks like he will be making the roster for the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots. With their history of utilizing TEs and Gronk's recent injury history, JOS should have a good year in New England!

Awesome news. I hope Shelby can turn this into a nice payday down the road. Good things should happen to good people.

Tre lead the Vikings with 4 tackles (all solo) last night. Also had a PI on a 4th down pass, unfortunately. Could be destined for a practice squad somewhere.

Didn't see the game last night, am sitting here now watching the replay on NFL Network. Will stay tuned, still in the first half.

Isn't Miami's QB David Fales former Bear??

I only saw Tre make one solo tackle, and he possibly could have deserved an assist on another, so I missed the others. And he got up from the one I saw - a nice one on one tackle "in space" as they say - favoring his shoulder and left the game. But it did look like he was back on a subsequent kicking play.
