Don't know what Rex Ryan was smoking acting like Shelby was a bum from the bench seeing his first action of the night? He blocked the 2nd kick attempt after the Denver timeout wiped out the first make for the Chargers.
Can someone say Appalachian State flashback!! Way to go Shelby!

Thanks for sharing.ISUBU said:I don't think I've seen this mentioned here, but former Redbird and NFL running back Aveion Cason is the head coach at Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas. This community is on the south side of the DFW region that we like to recruit. His OC is Deion Sanders.
For newer fans, Cason wasn't real big, but he was fast. He wasn't always the lead running back, but he also was a great kick returner on the first Redbird playoff teams.

What do you know, Jon-Marc Anderson and Nick Fish, former Birds, are starting for GVSU. and Reggie Spearman is on the roster and has some defensive stats and played in all the games so far. Good for them.

jon-marc was dismissed after he got busted for retail theft (under $300),dpdoughbird06 said:MadBird said:For no particular reason, was just looking at the schedule and roster for Grand Valley State, DII school in Michigan. Have to believe our coaches have contacts down the pipeline as well as up. We take in guys who wash out of P5 schools based on relationships between coaching staffs to start the process; nice to see that D-II coaches are ready and waiting to take in guys who didn't work out as Redbirds. Good to see that kids aren't just cast adrift when they choose to leave our program or are shown the door.

I happened to see the other day that Nate Iloilo is at Missouri Southern State and is also doing quite well for them.

Missouri WESTERN, actually.
Missouri Southern is where 'Ol Red Boots, Denver Johnson is coaching. And times are pretty tough for him again this year. 0-4 this year. They were 2-9 last year, and lost 5 of their last six.
nice find .. note this is dated Sept 6 and indicated 3 of 6 FCS players are ISU. But Bj Bello is now on Browns acrive roster and imagine if Cam Meredith had not gotten injured .. they would be talking about 8 FCS players on rosters, with 5 being from ISU.redbirddad10 said:A nice piece I found, don't know if anyone has posted but pretty impressive list of former ISU Redbirds in NFL. shows how the program has done relative to other FCS programs in Illinois. Id be curious how ISU compares to the In-State FBS programs?
