I saw this article in the Pantagraph. Evidently even with the MVFC cancelling the fall season there are still two games on the fall schedule. Eastern Illinois and Dixie State. Coach Spack said Dixie State is unlikely to play due to travel however cancelling EIU was not definitely stated. Would ISU play one fall game? They did not get a spring season to work on some things so I can see why they may want to stay in camp. They are there already so why not take advantage and work on some things. The seniors are in a very difficult position. This article was from August 8th but I have not heard or seen anything else about games this fall. I would have figured when the MVFC folded their fall season everyone was done but evidently that may not be the case. What a strange, strange year.

I truly feel for the Seniors who have the potential to play pro ball. I think spring ball might not happen either, then what do you do if your Himmelman? I doubt he'd stay another year to play next fall. He could've really used another year to impress the scouts. Be a real tough transition if he missed his last season before being drafted. Of course it helps that he's 6-10 and 315lbs. Three years ago I would've guessed he'd be 340 by now, oh well.

No chance they will play just one non conference game. The risk reward is not worth it. The best hope is we have a spring season for football and U of I agrees to play us in the future with a guarenteed pay day.

U of I already agreed to reschedule this year's game to..... 2028.

They should be 2 or 3 coaches removed from Lovie at that point.

Coach will be 66 in 2028. I've got a feeling he will be at his casual getaway place fishing by then. 🐟
The last five coaches we've hired have been a B10 DC (Spack), OVC HC (name escapes me for the moment), CUSA OC (Berry), P10 Asst (Heacock), B10 Asst (Otolski). It seems to me like the position is more attractive now than it has ever been in my lifetime.
