I'm sure the demons will try to shut Kendall Lewis down, and I hope they do. Let's see who else can step up and be major contributors.
Yep now it’s time to see how our outside shooting can fall into place. We haven’t allowed 70 points yet defensively. I just feel we should be putting up 75 per game. Even though competition will get stronger, shooting is still shooting. Go Birds

I believe a key will be Burford staying on the floor, distributing through his assertive drives in the lane - r shooters should be aware of kick outs for open J's.

We've gotta b stronger with the ball in response to their pressure D. I expect Kendall to continue to board and lead the way on that front.

Will we see any passes inside with actual post up moves? I wonder how Sissoko's knee is healing?

One key to the game will be defensive rebounding. We hmgave up too many offensive rebounds to Northwestern State. Their guards also hurt TCU in rebounding. We need a team effort in defensive rebounding.

I also imaging they will apply some ball pressure. We need to handle that better.

I'm a big believer in being bucket-getters. Don't care whether they're 2's or 3's. Analytics be damned. Kids can bomb from 25 (and not make nearly enough of them cause half of them are terrible shots) but get 'em into 5 or 10 ft or 15 ft and they literally don't have the skillset, at the D1 level, to make those buckets consistently. Which is a shame. Because if you get kids working on footwork, positioning and angles as much as they tally-ho-up a 3...it would make our game marvelous. I believe the more buckets you make, the more confidence you carry as the year winds down....individually and as a team. Get us a team of not just shooters, but bucket-getters. When we're down 1 or 2 with 10 seconds to go...we don't need a 25 footer. We need a bleeping bucket-getter!!! Half of me despises today's game. Get off my lawn, Toad!

Poppers, you are very optimistic about our outside shooting and I absolutely hope to be on your bandwagon soon. Keep your optimism and get the rest of us infected.

We won G1 at the free throw line. I doubt we get that kind of disparity again. We need to limit the turnovers and REBOUND.

Adjustments will be interesting in this game, when looking at the 3 D1 games that Northwestern State has played there opponents have gotten to the line with ease.
-Texas Tech 18-22
- Redbirds 24-31
- TCU 19-27

Turnovers by Northwestern States D1 opponents
-Texas Tech 20
-Redbirds 17
-TCU 10

Northwestern plays an interesting and I think that leads to opponents getting to the free throw line. Defend the 3, rebound and limit turnovers. Adjustments by both teams will be interesting.

A big part of shooting it consistently is have game legs. Summer practices and workouts are one thing it major minutes of game time is surely another. I believe we’re playing a slower pace right now because of it. Once more movement is installed in the offense shooting will be better. I call it shooting with energy, running to spots and knowing you have a shot before touching it makes all the difference in the world. Two shots come to mind when posting this. The Burford pass to Kasubuke 3 ball in one game and the Kasabuke pass to Mal in the last game I believe. Both were beautiful passes and shots. The team will be better than most expected I still believe.

I agree with all that. We’ve missed way too many bunnies in in the paint by everyone. Drive and kick baskets have pretty much been unseen so far. I’d love to see much more movement offensively as well
