Nice Rebound

Ok so after getting knocked around the Birds bounce back with nice non-conference wins vs EIU and Iowa.

I'm usually not a big college baseball guy with my focus being on college hoops and then moving to MLB. I did watch most of the EIU game and the team was fun to watch. The Rave kid from Central Catholic is going to be playing in the majors soon. He plays some great defense. The pitcher for the EIU game threw a complete game shut-out as well, which is pretty impressive regardless who you are playing. I'll be sure to keep an eye on the team moving forward.

Won at Iowa yesterday 11-6 as well. Valley now starts with a road trip to Valpo for the weekend.

Birds continue to play some very solid ball - sweeps Missouri State - on top of MVC.

Hard to say if Coach Durkac and the former staff could have taken this group to their current record if they'd been kept on, but hard to argue with success. Coach Holm is earning his keep so far!!

We're currently #44 in RPI and ranked in Top 50 in one poll. Indiana State and Dallas Baptist both ranked in many polls in Top 30 nationally. I really like the schedule this year - we have UIC and Sac State ahead

Birds win Game 1 of the series vs SIU in Carbondale - move the conference record to 6-1.

During the past week - the Birds split - losing at UIC and winning at home vs Sacramento State.
