Hanging on to hope for basketball season, the Cancun Challenge is moving to Florida. The Birds, Purdue, Clemson, and Mississippi State are in the field.

B1G just announced fall sports will be all conference. I imagine winter will be the same which means Purdue won't be going. I also imagine the other big 5 conference will follow suit meaning if the challenge even happens it'll be crap.

MBB is not considered a Fall sport. Fall sports are Football, Volleyball, soccer and cross country.
MBB is winter with WBB.
Spring sports are baseball, softball, Indoor track and field.
Still a glimmer of hope for the MBB season.

Note where it says I imagine winter will do the same in my OP. Thanx.

If the “Cancun Challenge” happens, looks like the Birds will start off against Purdue.

Host Georgia Southern on Friday, Nov 20.
Play Purdue in Florida on Tuesday, Nov 24.
Play Clemson/Mississippi State in Florida on Wednesday, Nov 25.
Previously got two non-conference home games from this tournament (2011-12 vs Lipscomb and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville; 2015-16 vs Houston Baptist and South Dakota State) rather than just one. Wonder if the pandemic had something to do with that.

On the other hand, the Jackrabbits did put it to us, so maybe only one is a good thing.
