Wow Crazy day, 2020 ending with a flourish -

Welcome Kyle Brennan. I’d say the Chief Operating Officer and Deputy AD at Utah was the most qualified choice. Time will tell if he’s the ideal fit for Illinois State Athletics but it’s hard not to be enthusiastic about his chances. Kyle has been the day-to-day supervisor of Power 5 conference football and basketball programs at Utah. Of course, football experience is critical for me and you can say that I am biased in that regard. But even if football isn’t your favorite sport you have to acknowledge that football has the largest budget of any sport with the most participants. It’s very important to get football right. Utah football head coach Kyle Whittingham raves about Kyle Brennan and he beat out some good competition to get the job. It’s a great time to be a Redbird.

Career path went through NIU, TCU, and Ball St. Dietz appears to have went with youth. Looks good on paper. Looking forward to hearing what's on his mind.

Seems like a decent hire - good experience plus "youth". Utah is a strong program and also has had to make its way in the PAC 12, so I'm sure in a way they are and "up and coming" operation. Hopefully Mr. Brennan will be able to navigate the ISU "situation". Seems like a new direction, new energy, etc. would be welcome.

I don't mean anything particular when I say "situation", I just mean getting to know all the "players" and donors and athletes and coaches and their concerns.

Welcome, Kyle. I like the football acumen. He brings some very good experience. Football, NIU, BSU, new facilities, all ads up.

He seems like a person you can just walk right up and talk to. That's good for shaking the donation tree.

Wish him nothing but great success. Excellent pedigree and he stayed a good while at Utah when really good things were happening there. Good to have someone from a successful, can do culture—a mindset that we need to wholesale embrace.

Nice to see a peaceful transition of power. Special thanks to Larry Lyons for sticking around a little longer to help make it possible. It's time for a new era in the Athletic Dept. Let's Go

I wish the new AD all the best. If he is successful then Redbird Athletics are successful. How could anyone feel differently but hope he has a great career in Normal!
