Bradley just isn’t a team that plays well from behind. I didn’t see a drop in talent from Wisconsins guards to Bradleys, even though I agree that guard play is Bradley’s weakness.

A 32 percent three point shooter went 5-7 against Bradley. Illinois beat Wisconsin twice this year and left Crowl open to fire 3’s. He went 2-11 in those games. Not sure if Illinois wins those games if Crowl is shooting like he did Tuesday night.

I was fine seeing Bradley lose, but don’t
understand posters taking this as a victory lap that the Valley as a whole stinks because the reg season conference champ lost this game.
My comments are a reflection of Bradley and how they match up with Wisconsin ... not the Valley. I think Drake, Belmont, and Indiana St pose different challenges just like ISU did last year. We scored over 80 points and lost by 4. Players like Reeves, Sheppard, Penn and a host of other guards in MVC would create much stronger threats with Wisconsin's guards than Bradley's. I didn't think Bradley would get blown out against Wisconsin especially how Wisconsin played the last 1/3rd of the season. However, b I am not surprised thst they loss. I thought Bradley would struggle to score. They gave up more points than I expected but as you pointed out Crowl was hot.

Furman! and UVA lays another huge egg in the dance. Bennett seems to be all or nothing in the dance.

Postgame presser. This will give you an idea of the quality of individual that Tony Bennett is...not just Tony, but his whole family including his stand-up Pops, Dick...and his players are always well-spoken.

Tony is a very successful coach who teaches quite a unique system...which presents in this time of year - BIG risk/BIG reward. Ohhhhhh this marvelous NCAA dance. Opening weekend is my favorite 4 days of the sports calendar.

1989 -90. Tony Bennett the player, and the Phoenix came to Normal and beat ISU in OT. Tony was a super guard and had a great game vs the Birds.

I was on the baseline for that game. I remember thinking this white boy can play. Tony scored close to 2300 points for UWGB. Dude might have had a 10 yr modest NBA career if not for a foot injury. Dead-eye shooter from everywhere on the court...and he was only 6'0. I believe he still holds the career NCAA mark for 3 pt shooting percentage - and - for you stat geeks he finished his career with a .624 effective fg%...which is almost astonishing for a 6'0 player.

Watched the second half of the N. KY Houston game last night. The full court press at least gave the 16th seed at chance against a more physically and athletic team. Would be nice to see the Birds be able to play that way.

Drake has nothing to hold their heads down for, except they played horrible against the worst team in the tournament, the league MVP couldn’t hit the rim, their 9 year head-band guard forced the action, missed shots and free throws and turned the ball over and their coach who will be hired at Purdue was out coached by a 98-year old man. Tired of it.

Spread it!

So we are doing the 1 game sample for the NIT for this?

So Central Florida winning at Florida and Morehead State winning at Clemson tonight.

Hofstra winning at Rutgers and Eastern Washington winning at Wash State last night.

Liberty winning at home over Villanova too.

🎯
Fairleigh Dickinson - Big Ten champions (isn't that how it works)!

DJ Horne just his a 3 with 12 seconds left in regulation to tie TCU. Then TCU hit a shot with 1 second left to win. DJ was 4-5 from 3 in the game with 17 points.

It was incredibly frustrating watching this game and seeing how many of the ASU players only look for a shot the moment they touch the ball. They are like horses with blinders on only looking at the basket as if they are just looking for a way to get their shot. It's not team basketball. I much prefer watching team basketball like many other teams in this tournament play. I feel bad for DJ. He had a great season and I felt he was their best team player all year, he was 2nd on the team in scoring, just 1 point per game behind the leader.
