The arena in Coralville seats 5,100 and is home to the Iowa women's volleyball team. Looks like it could be a perfect size for this event.

I’m biased, but I thought the Moline site was terrific. We always got a good room at a decent price, and there were lots of convenient dining choices. Evansville will be a considerably longer drive, but so be it.

I wonder if a location closer for Belmont and Murray State was in the works for a year. UE can easily host it.

You could argue having it in Peoria; I wouldn’t mind that, even if it was on Bradley’s campus.

You could argue having it in Bloomington then. Bring the economic impact to the Blo/No area, but separate it from campus. State Farm is a big basketball sponsor this would be in their backyard. 7200 seats

I would 100% agree you could have it here; I’m not sure how great the bball set-up is. Although does it conflict with any IHSA events already in town? (Basketball, wrestling, cheer?)

I don't know any IHSA events are at the grossinger arena and it would be a neutral site. If there was an event, you could work out a deal to move that to RBA and everyone wins.

Seems like a good reason to finally leave the Missouri valley conference having to play in a volleyball venue or a sports facilities gym. Ugh. Someone's not taking Missouri valley women's basketball very seriously because these are not serious choices

Cheerleading is at Grossinger the first weekend of February. The biggest conflict would probably be Bloomington Bison hockey games. I doubt Bloomington even bid on it but that would've been fun. Not a huge fan of Evansville hosting (location/Evansville MBB arena) but Purple is right. I am sure they will be a great host. I think Moline is good. The one I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned is the BOS Center in Springfield. I think Springfield could be even better than Moline. Convenient location and about as central as you can get without being in a MVC town. Basketball capacity of 7,700 I think.

This huge proposed renovation has more to do with the conference center, but I am sure it would make it a more attractive host.

Where do you propose they play?

When you have say 1k-2k fans for a tournament game, why would you want to play in a 10k+ fan arena. These local venues would love that attendance. StL or other large arenas are not going to be making a push to tie up their arena for a week with the crowds we currently draw.

Unless you have $25 million to start the process of moving up in a way we can be successful, it’s going to be tough to make the move without top-line donors on board. Ones that pay their contributions.
