I don't think that showed at all last night though. Stats don't seem to show that either:

Points in the Paint was 36-34 favoring Murray.

But we owned the boards 22-17 (equal off boards at 6 each.

ISU also had 4 blocks to 0 for murray State.
Weird....on the final shot, the ref emphatically stated the Murray player got all ball....

Those stats are very misleading. Our guards get buckets in the paint as well. Positionally speaking about the 5, and I do mean a true big. Plus a true big will help defend, block and alter shots which is the real killer of this team. We have no help defender downlow, we always switch and it puts this team in a squeeze.
Burford does for sure! His last shot was around the rim.

I did see that. No mention if the defender’s body went into him. It seemed like the crowd just flipped a switch. Like, “Gosh, it didn’t go in. Oh well, we’re used to disappointIng losses.”

I would find it hard to believe that STHs are going to increase next year, and I can’t see sponsors lining up wanting to jump on. This team is going to have to win back fans, donors.

Adunk is correct. The ref on the baseline was running off the court and kept signaling with his two hands that the shot was blocked

I was more making the point you could get ball but in the act of that, get him with the body. I can’t ever expect us to get a call at the end, and realistically, we put ourselves in the situation.

With our level of play right now, it seems like it will be a quick end to the season.

It’s a lot to ask of STHs when you simultaneously invite all of Peoria to drive over and make themselves comfy with $7.40 tickets for what is supposed to be our hottest rivalry game.
