Unless the Announcer gig really takes off, I fully expect Dan to be back in Coaching. Time will tell.

Dan's gotta have some good money banked and another million coming in. His wife's making good money and wants to stay put. He doesn't have to work. The way college athletics has changed I can see him sticking a fork in it. Why do anything if it's not fun? It's a good life. Enjoy it!

The MVC-TV Network already leverages Adam Emmenecker (Drake), Kevin Lehman (Northern Iowa) and Marcus Wilson (Evansville) ... why not Dan Muller?

Adam Emmenecker is my favorite valley announcer. I would love for Dan to do the ISU games. As said before he is a good man. He couldn't adjust to the new college coaching game but that won't affect him being a color man.

If I'm not mistaken, Wilson is back to Evansville and has joined Ragland's new staff. So there's an opportunity. But as 2004 points out...he could step in today and be the color guy for ISU on TV. Nothing against Sean Johnson, but having longtime D1 coach provide insights could be very entertaining. I kind of anticipated Muller wanted to go this route. A couple weeks after his firing he was co-hosting a selection show on The Score.

Correct. Marcus is now an assistant for the Aces so you won't see him as a broadcaster.

I enjoyed his March Madness commentary, and the article mentioned his friendship with Pedon, so there’d be no bad blood coming through in the broadcast. Still, a cooling off period of a few years before considering Dan for the Redbird broadcast might be healthy.

Yeah, there will be immediate comparisons and if they suck at furst people will be calling for a switch back to Dan

A very nice article and, while I understand his reasons for no longer wanting to coach a mid major, he is an established coach, 10 years younger than most NCAA coaches, and is moving to a city where you can throw a rock and hit 2 colleges with basketball programs. I expect that he might wade into college basketball again, but I honestly could see him being an extremely high end high school coach. I know it would be a step backwards, but one thing you can always say about coach is that he loved developing the player and the men he was working with.

As noted, he probably has close to a million in the bank already, will have another million by Christmas of 2024 and his wife rakes in (according to salary.com) about $200K a year. This dude can just go coach and teach gym somewhere in Nashville for $65K a year and just enjoy his life still involved in the game he loves and without a care in the world.

Dan Muller is a good dude and I hope he does just that.
