Well the MVFC doesn't think 202 yrs was good enough for player of the week.....if I was him, that would be in my locker and remind me that next week some average day from UNI QB wont bring me down , but rather push me to put on NDSU and make a statement with Mr Smith by my side. I would give a copy to everyone on the team to push them to never settle for anything but the top spot....

while he's at it .. Robinson should also know he finally got added to STATS "watch list" for post season awards. He was 1st team all conference RB from top conference in FCS in 2017. He's been top 3 in rush yards all year in MVFC ... and moved up to 2nd place in MVFC this week .. and it took this long before STATS added him to their watch list ?? The list is about 30+ long with players being added and removed every week. Finally added Robinson.

Message to Robinson and Smith .. all OL ... as if they need to be told ... this week will be a very nice opportunity to make a statement against the best run game and overall defense in FCS since 2010. Heal up and get ready to start your motors .... it is show time.

And if you love to compete, the only thing close to the feeling for an athlete of hearing the roar of your own home crowd ??? Take one guess .... it is the silence and groan's of the road team's crowd. The best competitors feed off the silence on the road.

This team is built to be Road Warriors ... I'd like to hear a pin drop in FargoDome !!!

So now Rob Haley from Stats is picking us to beat NDSU 24-20. I'm a little surprised to see this from him. But he likes to spread the "love" ... helps his website get more clicks. That said, this would be a nice statement game for James Robinson to come in with the same chip he had against WIU. But will need to see rest of offense show up too obviously. MoST caught us by surprise - we made good adjustments at halftime and fell jsut short ... which never would have happened under prior OC. But then we came out unprepared for WIU, other than Robinson putting on a one man show & clinic. WIU defense is proving to be much better .. so that was a pretty good test as far as preparing us for NDSU .. but yes, NDSU defense is better.

But we need Robinson to come out guns blazing, and then Davis, Smith, and OL need to be ready to take pressure of Robinson .. unlike our 2nd half against WIU when they stacked the box on us. But if we can get decent pass game going and keep their front 7 honest, and OL can deal with Bison defense, I think we have a real chance of winning this game.

Robinson needs to make them forget about Coprich ... maybe not as quick or as fast, but close enough so that is power and 220 lb weight will be a factor. Coprich was hard to tackle because of his speed and maneuvering. Robinson is very close to that, but more powerful .. that is what we saw against WIU. You can bet NDSU is prbably watching our WIU tape since they are the only common opponent and the best defense we've played against. They won't watch SIU tape ... too easy, they won;t learn anything.

James Robinson ... just bring that chip.

If "Mo State surprised ISU" then Spack and coaches at ISU are not doing their job. Mo State beat ISU plain and simple. Learn from it and move onward and hopefully upward too. Tall order this weekend no doubt but I do like ISU's chances this year vs the past few years when playing NDSU.

As a fan base we need to stop making excuses about MSU, they beat us. They are 4-2 and having a good season. If we end 7-4, 8-3, 9-2, or 10-1 does it really matter. Any those records and we make the playoffs. I also do not think Robinson needs any motivation for this game. The kid is special and we all know this. I just hope we do not give up on the run. In all honesty, I am just really excited for this game, I need it to be Saturday!! :D

Kleinman absolutely watched the SIU tape -- he commented that Davis has started to run with the ball instead of just buying time to throw it.

NDSU publicly sees what we know. We're going to try to run the ball to set up our passing game. We are best when we are balanced offensively. They know that to beat us they will have to slow the running game.

agree .. we got out game planned, out played, and out coached .. and do feel like we learned from it. One .. sh-t happens. Two ... show up to play. But I don't think they were better than us ... they caught us by surprise (trap game and they were better than we thought) coming off a dominant FBS win, IMO.

I didn't imagine they ignored it, but not much to learn from it .. other than Davis kept it twice for first time this year and we ran at will against a weak front 7. If we run same as we did most of SIU with 2 TEs constantly shifting one side or another all game, SIU was so susceptible to being blocked .. Bison will figure it out quickly. I would assume we will spread them out more to make sure we get Robinson and Smith more room when they get beyond the LOS. We didn't need to spread SIU out to get yards. That said, I do hope Davis keeps 4 or 5 times this week .. read their defense early, but don't save it .. he needs to be a threat realtively early in game .. got to keep their run defense honest with some passing and some QB keepers. We do that, we can win.
