Thank you, Total and fourth, for bringing the $5MM anonymous donation front and center. We are who we thought we are until someone writes that kind of a check.

Where do you suggest the new home be when the Dakotas leave?
MAC, but I'm not convinced that the Dakotas are leaving. South Dakota St. is experiencing the greatest success they have ever known. North Dakota St. had an amazing dynasty. If they go FBS both become ordinary overnight. FCS Championships matter to those people and they wouldn't even sniff a Nat'l Championship on the FBS level.

Btw the donor didn't stay anonymous for long -

https://www.ozarksfirst.com/sports/... was also noted at,fee to join the conference.

It was also noted at the press conference that Springfield lawyer and Missouri State alum Tom Strong donated the $5 million to cover the university’s application fee to join the conference.

It feels like a two-headed monster at this point in time. One, we don't have the money. We have no filthy rich alums who want to/can shell out the cash to apply to the MAC or elsewhere. Two, we won't raise the money from fan support or student fees or Gofundme (maybe Onlyfans?) or any other channel because apathy is at its strongest point. We've done jack squat in our two major sports for years, so asking people to pony up the dough for them is like pulling teeth. Had we been able to sustain success instead of just throwing flashes in the pan over the years, this would probably be a different story. But from the top down we've been taking a flying F at a rolling donut for far too long.

Still love us, though.

And donuts, too.

Agree but who would have predicted this drought 25 years ago. I (we) shouldn't pretend to know what the next 25 years will bring, but I do predict that things will be "different." Predicting change is safe bet lol.

There was vision to move years ago as well as support from the top. Pres Bowman and AD Zenger came out publicly in support of a move to the FBS. Nothing happened. A call to arms was largely met with inaction and the Hancock stadium renovation was primarily paid for with student fees. If private donors had come forward Hancock 2.0 could have been the first phase of a comprehensive plan. Fans vote with their pocketbooks. Everything else is just message board muddling.

f-ing AI has infiltrated this forum ... I'm out !!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. actually heading to dinner, be back on line later.
I was speaking in jest, my friend. Hillbilly artificial intelligence - we can change other's post through replies. It just made me giggle. Have a bottle of bubbly and enjoy.
