ThoroughIy enjoyed this. Outside of Doug Collins, Ricky was the most exciting Redbird for me to ever watch play over the past 50 years. I will never forget his slide to midcourt after beating Tulsa and Nolan Richardson for our first MVC championship, or the two amazing back to back blocks inside vs Wichita State ... Carr and McDaniel I think. My old college roommate and I were fortunate to sit at a table with him at the Doug Collins college HOF dinner ISU had. He was just a fun guy to talk with ... same demeanor and enthusiasm as I saw on the court. Great to hear his life with ISU has been so full and rewarding.

I remember big Joe coming out and blocking a bird jumper just outside the free throw line during that game. I turned to my friend, knowing bird was headed to nba successes, and said 'Joe will always remember that one.'
